DOES SHE LIKES ME?

CHAPTER-18
SWASTIK'S POV

Half of the december has passed by. It's been 2 weeks since we ;Kiara and I started the base. We have arranged the whole base and got all the equipment we would need. Kiara has also planted few small plants that according to her will bring positive energy.

It has become like a routine. In morning go to base, work with a sleepy kiara then have breakfast with her and go for internship, come back at eve go to library where I wait for Kiara then again base.

Today's day too went by as any day for me. Once I was back from office I met professor. As he has asked me to report him once a week.
"So how is it going?" He asked as I entered
"Good. We have got the first project" I said

He hummed in response and started reading the book he have in his hands.
"Anything else sir?" I asked
"No, you carry on. Kiara must be waiting for you and yes I have signed the notice"
He said
I nodded and exit his cabin.

Since that night, things have changed a bit. Though I still dislike her guts but now she has become tolerable. Maybe I over judged her.

I took out my phone which has been ringing for a while.
I expected it to be kiara's call but it was mom who was calling.

I was about to pick up the call when I saw Kiara coming my way with some of her friends.
The moment her eyes lands on me she smiled widely and waved her hand like a puppy. She whispered something to the girl beside her and walked up to me.

"Lets go shall we" she said
I nod at her and we started walking. While walking she was talking about random things. Like literally random things. Like how someone's dog peed on his laptop, how people who put milk before cerals are criminals, how she started reading this book but the moment she read that male lead cheated she threw that book away and many more.

I am not even interested in listening I mean the people she is talking about  I don't even know their names and I don't want to know her opinions on random things. Anyways since when we started talking so friendly?

Wanting to shut her up. I started walking faster. She stopped talking and started talking long strands. Too bad she is too short so she has to practically jog to match up my speed.

She pushed my arm and started running. I chuckled at her. She runs like a penguin. I felt people's gaze on me staring at me weirdly. They must be surprised as I dont really laughed infront of them ignoring them I followed Kiara.

When I reached base room behind Kiara we saw many students already in waiting for us.
Today we are going to announce the name of members who will be part of society. The results are made by both of us under professor Mathew's supervisor. Our friends and seniors are all busy with internships, some with their parents companies and some at different companies so they are not here.

I took out the results sheet from my bag and handed it to Kiara as we decided (through Rock paper scissors) that she will announce the result.

"Hey guys sorry for making you'll wait" she said
They all mumbled hellos.
"Okay so before announcing it. Let me tell you the word conveyed by professor Matthew himself. He said I quote"

'Everyone did much better then excepted. This result doesn't showcase your ability so don't be disheartened. You might not be the official part of this but you are always welcome here to learn things'. Okay so now I am announcing the results " she said

She started announcing the results but I was just looking at her. The words she said weren't professor's words. I know as I was the one who got the results from him. At first I was confused about why is she saying all this but now looking at her and the way she talked to rejected candidates I know.
