SWASTIK'S POV
CHAPTER-28Joining my hands, I closed my eyes. Repenting on every deed I did in this year. Standing infront of the ideal lord Krishna I felt my inner soul getting calmed. Though I am not much of a devotee but on somedays I find myself leaning on them.
This year has already come to an end. First half months of this year was just like any other months to me. But the moment my childhood rival entered my life again things started taking dramatic changes.
My once calm life started becoming chaotic. At first I was loathing her for coming back but now I am feeling things which are out of control.
I have yet not given name to this weird feelings but surprisingly I am looking forward to explore it more.
Bowing my head once again I walked out of the temple along with Manthan. It was him who insisted that we come here first thing in the morning. He wanted aarav and keshav to join us too but it was impossible to wake them up.
We both distributed some shawls and woolen cloths to the people in need, after that we even organized a bandara with our own money in temple. It was afternoon when we got free.
"Bhai instead of going hostel let's go to near market I need to buy some jewelry for my sister and bhabhi" manthan said as we walked towards the outer streets.
"You will be going home?" I asked"Yeah I am planning to" he replied
Manthan's hometown is in kanpur. He shifted here for studies along with his parents leaving his elder brother along with his wife there but after his parents got to know that his elder brother's wife was pregnant they went back to there leaving him here."Lets check this vendor" he said walking to a small roadside vendor, who had displayed several beautiful jhumkas, earrings, necklace and bangals.
While manthan was looking through the items my eyes catches a glimpse of pair of sunflower crystal earrings. They somehow reminded me of her."Chale?" Manthan asked as he took change from the shopkeeper.
Glancing once more at the earrings I followed him."Manthan tu chal. My shoe lace got untied" I said crouching down, discretly undoing the laces
"Okay mai kachori wale par hu. Come there" he said
I glanced up cautiously to see him walking in the kachori shop just across the street.I stood up making sure to see he is not in sight and dashed back to the vendor.
"Bhai ye pack Kar do" I said handing him the earing.
"200 rs" he told packing the earrings in a plastic packet.
Paying him, I immediately rushed to the shop manthan was in."Where were you?" he asked as he noticed me.
"Nowhere" I answered as subconsciously my hand went above my pocket, feeling the bump because of earrings.°☆°☆°☆°☆°☆°☆°
"Do you want to come with us or shall we stay back?" Keshav asked
"Neither" I replied lazily turning the pages over
"I have ordered your favorite food. Delivery man will be here in half an hour" Manthan said
Showing him thumps up, I marked a highlight in my book"Aarav did you called girls?" Manthan asked as they stepped out of door
"They are in parking " Aarav answered
As they closed the gate behind, I sighed softly.Taking out the earrings I brought for her I looked at it. Throughout the day I didn't had it in me to give it to her. Now I kind of think maybe I shouldn't have bought it. She might not like it. Keeping them back in drawer. I took out my phone. Mom have sent me a message.
HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Just three words after that there is a bank transaction statement. This is how its been. She would send me message then money. Nothing else. No calls no celebration. I don't feel comfortable in clubs that's why I spend my new years alone in my dorm.
I took out the book I brought a week ago as a gift for myself. Books have always been my escape from reality. At first I started with books that had knowlegeble books, philosophy, biopics and thrillers but with time my taste changed.
Just few years back I got introduced to fictional novels. Since then there is no turning back. Now I read everything, every genre. Be it thriller or romance.
The book I got myself is a college romance novel. It's enemies to lover trope. They both hate each other yet gets pulled together somehow. Half way in the story I realized throughout the whole time I have been imagining her and myself, I closed the book instantly.
What the hell. This never happened before. Whenever I read a book I used to imagine faceless characters. I seriously need to stop before I imagine ridiculous things.
Taking out books I decided to study.
°☆°☆°☆°☆°☆°
I layed on my bed looking up to the ceiling. Sleep is nowhere and I have nothing much to do. After eating, I cleaned the whole dorm then studied for hours and now I am getting bored. Sitting up straight I tore a page from notebook.
From the day of fest my craziness for music have started yet again. I can't seem to stop myself from writing musical notes. Now that a piece of note that I had started years back is complete I want to write lyrics to it. Though I have the motivation to write but what I want is a muse. I have spent hours thinking what can my muse be but yet haven't found one.
I was brainstorming when my phone ringed. Without checking the caller ID I picked up the call.
"Hello" I said putting my phone near ear
"Hey. Prince can you come at the back of dorm" a familiar feminine voice said in urgency
I looked at the caller ID to see kiara's name."Why?" I asked
"Just come" she said
"I am not coming unless you tell me the reason" I said
"Swastik yar just do as I said for once" she whinned
"Wait. Are you drunk? Who's with you? Goddammit Kiara are standing outside alone at this time?" I asked panicking as I stood up from my bed and wore my jacketI know that she is self sufficient to protect herself but when it comes it her I can't take the thought of her being in any sort of danger.
"Calm down mere prince. Kuch nhi hua mujhe. I am definitely not drunk. And come outside quickly. Bye" she said"Don't you dare hung up on m-" before I could complete she had hung up the call
"She is gonna be death of me" I mumbled walking out of my dorm
The whole corridor silent as most of the students are out celebrating.I wonder why has she called me out. I swear to God if she is pranking me I am gonna blow her head up with a bat.
Mumbling cuses at her I walked out of dorm building from back door.Standing down the lamp post I took out my phone. The whole area is empty, I can see no one is my line of sight. Where the hell she is? Fuck is she okay.
Fumbling my phone I dialed her number.
"For fucks sake please be alright" I mutteredI froze as a drop of small white flake fell on my phone. I looked up at the sky as more white flakes fell down from sky.
Snow fall
No. It can't be it. I am in delhi and snow fall here is impossible. I heard soft footsteps approaching me from behind.I turned around to see Kiara walking towards me with a dazzling smile. Even in a smiple sweater and jeans she looks no less then a diva.
She pulled her hand out as white flakes gathered in her palm.
"Isn't this pretty?" She asked
"Indeed it is" I said as I looked at her"Did you do this?" I asked
"No. Bhagwan ji ne Kiya. Obviously meine he kiya hoga na" she said
I glared at her playfully.
"Tu gyi nhi party mai?" I asked looking at the fake snow which looks too realistic.
I want to ask her why she did it but I am feeling too shy to ask."I did. But I returned earlier" she answered
Suddenly the fire crakers started bursting in air
"Happy near year mere prince" she said looking directly in my eyes. Her eyes shining like fucking stars which is making it difficult to turn away."Happy new year princesses " I wished her back
Standing in the rain of fake snow I felt my heart thumping in my chest as she kept looking at me. Realization started to hit me like a brick.
I have started to fall for Kiara Oberoi.Later that night my hands glited upon themselves as words flowed from ink of pen. The moments spent with her became an inspiration for me. She became muse to my artist.
