NKOSI'S POV_

I walked in the villa, straight out the back. What was going on here?

Mama: "Your Highness."

Nkosi: "Hello." I looked at the table on the grass and chairs around it. It had table cloth on it with two vases of white lily's.

Mama: "I decided to make a special lunch outside for the family. Will you join us?"

Nkosi: "I suppose." Something was wrong with the table but I'm not sure exactly.

Mama: "Perfect. Thembisa is waking up, Nele went to fetch her. The kitchen made some food for us. We can enjoy this sunny day." That's it. The grass was still wet from the storm, the table would sink in the soil.

Nkosi: "The tab-"

Sasa: "Hello." I looked at her, coming around from behind me, smelling heavenly.

Nkosi: "Hey." I smiled. She was wearing my favourite dress. The black one that hugs her body snug the pools on the floor loosely. A sudden urge to hold her overwhelmed me.

Sasa: "Hello Zwe."

Zwe: "Hi." He smiled looking at me.

Nkosi: "What?"

Zwe: "Nothing. Thembisa can I check you please?"

Sasa: "Sure. I also cleaned my wound today, Amahle helped." She walked back to the room with him. I stared after her contemplating if I should follow. Amahle stood in front of me.

Ama: "Can we talk?"

Nkosi: "Sure."

Ama: "Mama, we will be back soon, we're just walking in the garden."

Mama: "Okay sweetie." I followed Amahle down the main path.

Nkosi: "It's nice seeing you polite."

Ama: "Don't get used to it. Father wants to see me." Nkosi: "Obviously. You're his favourite child."

Ama: "Hm.. he's going through something."

Nkosi: "We all are."

Ama: "He needs Thembisa."

Nkosi: "No he doesn't."

Ama: "Nko-"

Nkosi: "No. Don't start your nonsense."

Ama: "Nkosi, you need to loosen your grip. Father has alot to unpack. Thembisa can help with that."

Nkosi: "Why can't he unpack it himself? Why don't you help him also?"

Ama: "I would but I'm limited. I don't know what he's going through."

Nkosi: "No Amahle." She looked at me. I looked back at her. (I can do this all day.)

Ama: "Fine. Thembisa expressed that she was worried about the funeral tomorrow."

Nkosi: "What funeral?"

Ama: "Her guard's funeral." She still wants to go?

Nkosi: "What do you think?"

Ama: "It'll make her feel better. Besides, she can go with Mthunzi. I assume you don't want to go."

Nkosi: "if I step forward in the direction of that procession, they'll stop the entire program and focus on my presence. Qhama deserves better than that. It's his day, people should focus on respecting his life for the last time."

Ama: "That's sweet but you're nervous." We walked back to the table.

Nkosi: "I trust Mthunzi. He'll protect her." I just wish it was me by her side, holding her hand. "How long are funerals?"
