Adam cards the door and gets in. I cover my face with the covers and he sits on the bed.
"Jacelyn listen to me, please. I'm with you and only you," those words make my heart skip a few beats,"I don't even know how she found out where I was staying. She came here asking me if I still had her dress from prom. I don't know why she's asking me that now, that was almost 2 years ago. She also wanted to know who I was with and asked me so many questions, and I got aggravated and made her leave, I swear Jacelyn that's all that happened."
I take the covers off of my face, and sit up.
"Do you promise that's all that happened?"
"Yes, I promise, and I hope you believe me. I wanted today to be good, great...amazing. I was gonna take you on a date, and take you shopping for your birthday because you didn't get to do anything to your birthday." he gets up off the bed, and walks out of the room.
What the heck was that, man? He confuses me sometimes.
I check my phone and Mariska has texted me.
*hey we're staying in ider a few more days. if you need anything tell me. love you see you in a few days.
*okay. me and Adam are going somewhere today I guess. that's what he said in case yall change your minds and come home.
I sit there on the bed, aggravated with Adam because he comes in here and says stuff like that and then walks out. Ugh.
The door opens and Adam comes in with a big bag that says Happy Birthday!
He walks over to me and hands me the big bag. I sit it down on the bed, he stands and watches me take the paper stuff out.
The bag is full of stuff and is piled to the top.
"Hold on I forgot another present," he says and leaves the room.
I pull out a hoodie from American Eagle, it's the same colors as his and it's so soft. He must've got it because I always take his hoodie and it's favorite one. Awh, now we'll match. I grab what feels like two handles. I pull it out and it's a bag of Bath and Body Works. It has mine and his favorite perfume. Winter Candy Apple. I continue pulling stuff out of the gigantic bag including: a blue floral tank top and gray shorts with it, a new bag and wallet, a new, Chevron makeup bag and inside it has makeup. I realize I've reached the bottom and I look inside in case he got me a card, and he has. I open it and it's a cute card. I read the front and then open it. Inside it has $50.
My word how much did he spend on me.
He finally returns to the room with a big box.
"Adam I have enough presents and I love them all but you didn't have to."
"Oh hush it's okay, here open this," he hands me the box.
I open the top and there's another box I open it and there's wrapping paper. I get the big thing out and start unwrapping it. I swear there's like 50 layers of this junk on whatever this is.
"Adam, what the heck?" he laughs and motions for me to continue.
I do so, and finally I come to a small box. Really? all that for this small box?
I open the box and there's a ring.
"What's this Adam?"
"It's a promise ring. I know we haven't been together long but I just want you to know I love you and only you. I've always wanted to be yours and you to be mine and I think this is the first step to show you I want to be with you for a long while, I love you Jacelyn," tears come to my eyes from the words he said. all the words that are so perfectly put together. I hug him and thank him for everything.
"Now go get dressed in your new outfit and try out your new makeup. We'll go out tonight and have an adventure," I kiss him before grabbing the outfit and makeup bag and going to the bathroom to get ready.
