*Ansel's POV*
When we got home,
I took my beautiful Rosaline's hand
And led her inside.
Because I know the fear,
I didn't judge her
When she stared at her home.
Maybe the fear was beating at her heart.
Maybe she felt the tug
I pulled at her hand.
Maybe everything disappears...
Or maybe it all comes rushing back.
Yet, as soon as we were inside,
My beautiful Rosaline was smiling
And meeting people
With joy spread across her face.
I've seen her like this,
I just hope she's not only doing this for me.
I want her to live this happily.
After getting many "happy bdays",
I walk up behind my beautiful Rosaline
And snuggle my nose into her neck.
"Smile," I hear
As we both look up.
Mom stares at the picture
Before smiling and walking off.
"I miss you,"
I whisper.
She spins in my arms
And says, "I miss you too."
Leaning down,
I kiss her softly,
Hopefully saying what I know she needs to hear...
I love you. I'm right here.
She smiles afterwards.
Bret walks up and smacks my back.
"Hey, man, when's the wedding?"
I grin.
"Soon."
Bret picks up Rosaline's left hand
And stares.
"Uh- well, congrats, both of you. Told anyone yet?"
My beautiful Rosaline looks at me.
"No. Maybe later."
Then,
Bret does what only a big bro would do.
Standing on a chair,
He yells to get everyone's attention.
"Hey, yo, everybody!! Our birthday boy is gettin' hitched!!"
Whoops and hollers are heard
Over and over.
So many people walk up
And say so many different things.
Finally, my mom walks up,
Hugging Rosaline and making her laugh.
"Congratulations, baby."
"Thanks, Mom."
"She's the one?"
I nod and hug her tighter.
"Always and forever."
"I'm so proud of you."¤¤¤
The hub-bub of the party takes over
And ends up leaving us exhausted.
As I sit on the couch,
My beautiful Rosaline curls up
Under my arm
And leans on my chest.
"Was today as amazing as I hoped it would be?"
She asks,
Taking my hand
To link it with hers.
"Yes."
She smiles up at me-
Her eyes catching me the most.
"Good," she whispers,
Staring adamantly at me.
Then,
She leans forward and lets her lips
Lie against mine.
It's not like the kisses I've given her
Or the ones in recent times
When she needed a kiss that
Said nothing
But everything.
This time,
I know,
She was here for me.
She was telling me
What I've always been telling her.
I slip a hand into her hair
And respond,
Kissing her deeper
And pulling her into my lap.
She tries hard not to smile,
But I end up breaking it
And smiling myself.
"Why are you smiling?"
I ask quietly.
"My ring got caught in your hair."
My beautiful Rosaline grins
And looks past me at her ring.
The ring I've always stared at
As it laid in my drawer
Waiting for her to come along.
And instead of the doubt I saw earlier,
Her face shines with complete confidence.
And she kisses my lips.
"I'm glad, Ansel. I'm so incredibly happy to be marrying you. Yeah?"
I smile and pull her to me.
"Oh yeah."~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
