Amias's POV:

I was getting ready to go to the auction. I still don't know why I agreed in the first place. Luckily, I had a suit I've never worn since I don't usually have any  special occasions to wear it to. I was going to ask Troy if he could come with me, but I realized I needed at least one adult to look after the others. I do trust Ryan to look after his siblings, but I don't want to burden him with such a task.

"If you need anything, just call me." Troy sighed and said I should enjoy myself instead of worrying so much about them. I do agree with him, but I need to worry. If I don't, then who will? I wore my suit jacket as I walked out the door. I called a taxi and showed him the address on the invitation. "Wow! You're were invited to the Gallomano auction?" The driver said.

"What do you mean?" I asked in confusion. I thought this was some kind of auction for a group of rich people who were looking for something to buy. "The Gallomano family are incredibly rich and famous. Mr. Gallomano's family created the database that all computers use to this day. Have you never heard of them?" I shook my head in response to the driver's question, and he looked shocked.

We arrived at the mansion, and I could see the driver's eyes beam with happiness. "That's not a house; that's a whole castle!" The driver exclaimed. I gave him the money for the ride and walked out. I had to walk for what seemed like 10 minutes just to get to their front door. They had a long driveway with beautifully sculptured trees by each side. At the end of the driveway was a glorious fountain.

I walked in to see hundreds of people flooding the room, butlers handing out champagne, and jazz music playing in the background. I took a look around the room before i caught a glimpse of Celeste. Before I could walk over to say hello, her eye caught me and she started rushing over to me.

"Amias! Hello, dear. I didn't think you'd make it!" She pulled me in for a hug. I smiled and hugged her back. She pulled me half way across the room before we stopped, and there she was. The stuck-up girl from the supermarket who was attached to those pens like her life depended on them.

"Amias, this is my daughter, Emilia." Celeste introduced us and quickly left to talk to some other guests. "Supermarket boy. Didn't think poor people like you would wined up here of all places," Emilia said, holding a glass of champagne in her hand. She was wearing a classy, white, backless satin dress. The dress seemed like it would cost a fortune based on the diamonds and pearls embroidered into it.

"Were you born an ass, or do you just enjoy being one?" The smile instantly got wiped from her face, and I could tell she was mad. I walked away, and she followed behind me. "What are you even doing here? This isn't your type of party."

"How would you know what my type of party is? You don't even know me, let alone my name." Every word that was uttered out of my mouth made her furious. Suddenly, I enjoyed annoying her. Seeing her face turn red because I said something along the lines of her being shallow made me gleam with joy.

"Oh, but I do know you. Your parents are probably junkies who left you all alone on the street because they didn't care enough to take care of you." She took a sip of her wine and grinned. God, that sentence really pissed me off. I wanted to punch her, but I calmed myself down. No matter how mad I am, I would never lay a hand on a woman. Including the devil of a woman in front of me. She could see I was mad because she started smiling.
