Emilia's POV:

I had noticed the pens were missing from my bag the second I got into the car. I yelled and told Mike that the trashy, homeless guy had stolen the pens from me. Mike had acted as if it wasn't a big deal and asked if he could go in and buy another pack for me. I whined and said that those were the last pack.

Mike sighed and followed the homeless guy who had stolen from me. I waited in the car as Mike followed him. Great, now I'm late to go shopping all because a selfish guy couldn't accept the fact that he was too slow to get a pack of pens. As if he could even afford them. What would a homeless guy even need pens for?

A while had passed, and I saw Mike come back, although his hands were empty. I'd thought he would've at least called the cops on that trashy, homeless guy if he didn't get the pens. "Where are the pens?" I asked Mike curiously. "He was too fast; I couldn't catch him." I sighed at Mike's incompetence and signaled for him to drive me to the mall. At least the mall will cheer me up.

"Pick me up after exactly three hours. Don't be late, and don't rush me if I take a little longer," I walked off before sighing. At least he could do this one thing right. He drove off after nodding his head in acceptance. I walked to almost every store, buying everything left and right.

I got bored after shopping for a while since I did not like most things that I saw. I only bought a new bag and called Mike to pick me up early. I waited outside for him for five minutes before he finally arrived and opened the car door for me.

"What took you so long?" I huffed angrily. He looked at me with a smile, and I was confused. What was he so happy about? He suddenly handed me a box of pens—the same pens that were stolen from me by that homeless guy! I squealed happily and thanked Mike for bringing the pens back to me as he drove me back home.

Amias's POV:

"How was your day?" Troy asked me as he walked in after me.  I gave out a loud huff, portraying I didn't want to talk about my day. My encounter with that awful woman kept replaying in my mind over and over again on my walk home. She didn't even know me, and she had the audacity to judge me before she even knew him.

"I ran to this god awful rich entitled woman who kept yelling at me in the middle of the street." Troy apologized for the encounter and asked if I was okay. I gave him a slight nod and went in to say hi to my baby girls. Before I could even go into the hallway, they ran out of their rooms, hugging me.

"Ami, look what I made!" May tugged at my shirt, showing me her new princess castle. I gave her a kiss on her forehead and exclaimed at her princess castle. "Wow, you built that all by yourself?" May gave me a nod and jumped up in happiness. I picked her up and played with her and the princess castle for an hour before getting up to go to the bathroom.

Before I could knock on the bathroom door, I heard a noise, almost a sniffle, and I immediately knew it was Alison. "Hey, open the door. Tell me what's wrong, Ali." I said in a calm tone, trying not to scare her. I knocked on the door, hoping for a response. I waited for a few minutes before the door slightly opened.

"I heard you crying. Are you okay?" I asked, but she kept her head down. I didn't want to pressure her for an answer, so I waited a little before I could ask her again. "I think I'm dying." My face turned into worry, fear, and confusion when I heard what she said.

"Huh? What do you mean by that?" I asked worriedly, but trying to compose my confusion. She looked at me with tearful eyes and sighed sadly. "I went in to pee, and I was bleeding." She started crying, thinking she was dying. I tried my best to hold in my laughter. I hugged her and let out a little laugh before seeing her backing away and playfully punching me, telling me it's not funny.

"Ali, honey, you just started your period," I said while laughing. She looked at me with confusion and asked what it was. I knew what a period was, but I wasn't really taught about how a period starts or what causes it, so I didn't know how to properly explain it to her.

"It means you've become a woman now," she looked at me with tears still in her eyes. I sighed and hugged her again, telling her it'll be okay and there was nothing to worry about. I walked over to Troy and asked if he could run to the store and buy feminine products. He looked at me, puzzled, and asked what I meant by that.

"Ali started her period, so get her some tampons or pads or something; I don't know." Troy and I stood still, trying to figure out what exactly women use when they're on their periods. "I'll just ask the store clerk when I'm there." I nodded and Troy left to go to the store.

Worry came over me as I remembered now I have an extra necessity than I need to work harder to afford. I try to shove that thought aside. I mean, how expensive can these products be if they are a necessity? Suddenly, my phone rang, and I picked it up to see who was calling.

"Hey, Ami, can you come to the store? I don't know what to get for Ali," Troy said on the other line. I stood for a minute before replying to his stupidity. "And what makes you think I would know what to get her?" I huffed and said I'll be there in a minute. I hung up the phone and left to go to the store.
