!!! DISCLAIMER !!!
The last part of this chapter is heavily inspired by one of my favorite TV shows (boys over Flowers) so that's why it might seem familiar.
Also I sincerely apologize if it took me so long, I kept changing idea so many times and ended up just letting myself get influenced.
It's a bit longer than the others so I hope that compensates a little bit.
I apologize again.hope you enjoy ♡
◇chapter eleven◇
third person's POV:
The sun has not set yet, although it's already getting pretty late. It's six p.m. and the hospital is getting less and less busy, Yuta can hear the footsteps of people walking in front of his room, and he can't help but hate it here. All he does is lay in a bed, staring at the ceiling, waiting for the visitors to come, who are only Mark and Jihyo by the way, and then a whole other day has to pass before he can see someone again. His memory is blurry he can barely remember what happened within these months, and honestly he doesn't want to remember either. All he cares about is that now it's over, and that's enough for him. He waits for the rustling outside to be over before taking out his phone, which he shouldn't even have but being a teenager it wasn't hard for him to sneak out of his room and get it. He had already planned on going out with Mark, yet the doctors said he should rest for at least another day before leaving.
So that's what happened. The next day, the boy was already awake at 9 a.m. and wasted no time saying the quickest goodbye to the doctors before sprinting out. It's been so long since he had been free, and he missed it.
To his expectations, the day went well, Mark showed him what had changed while he was gone, told him all the drama that happened at school and they joined a group of 9-year-olds to play a football match. It all went smoothly, yet there's still one question that floats in Yuta's mind.
Now it's pretty late, around 7 p.m., rain pouring unexpectedly hard and the two best friends had to find shelter in a cupcake shop.
Yuta's eyes dart out of the big window, his chin resting on his hand while he holds the empty cupcake cup with the other. He didn't exactly plan his first free day to go in this direction. There's no one outside, the wind alongside the water carrying the fallen leaves and abandoned trash away, windows of all houses shut and very few cars passing by the streets.
Mark: "Are you ok?" the concerned tone of his friend snaps him out of his thoughts.
Yuta: "Yeah, it's just pretty sad to see the empty streets"
Yuta looks down at the empty cup in his hand before giving a big smile to his friend.
Yuta: "But I don't care that much, at least I'm with you"
Mark dramatically puts a hand over his heart and makes a fake shocked expression, which gains a giggle from Yuta
Mark: "You know you can't do that out of the blue, you flatter me"
The two boys spend what probably was a good twenty minutes joking when Yuta catches a figure outside in the rain, walking at a fast pace while knocking on doors, which unfortunately remain closed.
Yuta's full attention was on the boy, who he couldn't see clearly because of the heavy drops, yet he could grasp silver hair and an expensive jacket.
Yuta: "Mark, you see that guy?" He points him to his friend who matches his shocked expression
Mark: "Oh my god, what is he doing in the rain?"
Yuta and Mark give each other a look before the redhead gets up and heads to the door.
Mark: "Wait, are you seriously going outside?"
Yuta: "He can't just stay under that heavy rain, people are not opening their doors" he points out and Mark gives an understanding nod.
Mark: "ok but hurry up, you just got out of the hospital"
Yuta gives his friend a warm smile before heading outside. He made his way to the opposite side of the road, careful not to slip, while the other boy leans against a street pole after receiving no answer. But Yuta couldn't expect that that boy, his hands covering his face, the silver hair completely soaked and so are his clothes, is someone way more familiar he thought. In fact, it didn't take long for him to realize the boy is actually Taeyong, and he felt a thump in his chest. What the hell is he doing out in the rain? Just as his mind started to get filled with questions, he sighed, forcing himself to put those thoughts aside and help him.
Yuta took a few steps closer, and he saw Taeyong taking out his phone, seemingly not noticing him. What a dumbass. Who takes out their phone during a rainstorm? I guess it's a rich people thing, or maybe he's just stupid. Due to the heavy rain, the redhead couldn't really hear what he was saying, so he closed even more the distance between them. Now his words became more clear and Yuta couldn't help but stop in his tracks to listen.
Taeyong: "Jaehyun I told you I'm not coming back until I find him"
Find who?
Taeyong: "Because it's already a miracle I managed to sneak out, if my dad finds out I not only broke the rules, but I'm also looking for Yuta, he's going to lock me in my room with even more surveillance and never let me out again"
Did... Did Yuta hear him right? Taeyong is looking for him? Why would he...
Taeyong: "I don't care, I'm not giving up, keep that bullshit to yourself"
With that, Taeyong hung up on his friend a shoves his phone in his pocket and held his arms, visibly shaking. That's when Yuta had enough and walked up to him, pulling him into an embrace.
The other boy gasped, but he didn't push him away. His eyes are wide, not because of fear, but because he knows who's hugging him, and he got a sudden feeling of like... relief? No, that isn't all he's feeling, yet the only thing he cares about at the moment is the fact that he finally found him. Well, technically Yuta found him, but that doesn't matter.
Taeyong: "...Yuta?"
It took the redhead a few seconds to answer, he held the other boy tightly.
Yuta: "yeah it's me"
They remained like that for a while, something felt warm in both their chests and none of them wanted to break the hug. The sound of a thunder causes them both to flinch, snapping them out of their thoughts and their eyes met. A tension so thick Yuta's breath started to feel heavy.
Yuta was the first one to look away, grabbing Taeyong's wrist.
Yuta: "what are you doing under the rain, you idiot?"
No words come out of Taeyong's mouth. The silver haired just lets himself get dragged, his eyes moving down to where Yuta was holding him. It felt... Weird, but in a good way, so he doesn't mind. It's like his mind just went in stand by, totally stopped elaborating what's happening around him.
The redhead heads back into the shop only to find it closed. What? He's been out for that long? Mark isn't there anymore either. Yuta quickly lets got of Taeyong to check his phone.
Taeyong: "Why are you staring at that shop?"
Yuta: "Me and Mark were in here, but since I wasn't coming back he had to leave because his mom came to pick him up"
Yuta's eyes dart around, trying to orientate himself.
Yuta: "I think I know where we can go, follow me"
He didn't even give Taeyong time to react before starting to run under the rain, down the empty street, until he bashed in a blue dirty door, and the silver haired followed, questing his action yet keeping silent, uncharacteristically trusting the other.
Yuta layed against the walls, panting because of the running, while Yuta heads to the elevator.
Yuta: "if we go up to the fourth floor there should be someone I know, unless they moved, that is"
Taeyong lifted his head, hugging himself again because of the cold, then nods and follows the other inside. Why the fuck did he not bring a jacket?
The two boys wait patiently inside of the elevator, not saying a word. The silence was awkward, and it became more and more embarrassing as the seconds passed.
They were both soaking wet, yet Taeyong was freezing. He had no idea it would rain this much so all he was wearing were a t-shirt, a sleeveless hoodie, and baggy jeans, and his shaking didn't go unnoticed by Yuta who now felt more concerned.
After a few seconds of hesitance, he holds his hand out to Taeyong, who is, to his surprise, off the wall of the elevator, stepping closer to him.
Yuta's eyes widened slightly at how close the other boy was getting, lifting his hands in front of himself to keep some distance.
Yuta: "Oi, what are you doing?"
That didn't stop Taeyong. His eyes were locked on the other's, whose heart started to beat faster. A slight panic in his expression as the silvered head keep closing the distance between them, Yuta couldn't clearly tell if his eyes were closing or if it's just his impression, but he could feel Taeyong's hands placed at the side of his head.
They're close.
Too close.
Yuta placed his hands on Taeyong's shoulders, trying to hold him far yet not succeeding as he felt his whole weight drop on him, the redhead's arms flying around the other's waist to hold him, slowly guiding him down.
Yuta: "Taeyong?"
The silver-haired boy slightly shaking because of the cold, his head on the floor of the elevator.
Yuta, slightly panicking, takes off his jacket and covers the boy in front of him, his hand gently placed on the burning forehead of the other.
Yuta: "Damn, man, you're burning"
Taeyong couldn't do anything but lay there, his eyes half closed as he looked up at the redhead.
Taeyong: "Yeah, no shit"
Yuta frowns. It's unbelievable how this man had the audacity to talk like that after this.
Yuta: "You talk a lot for someone who just got saved by me"
That received a chuckle coming from the other, who, even in his conditions, doesn't miss the change to argue. It's Taeyong we're talking about, it's only natural for him. Even if he's fucking freezing, seeing Yuta after so long warms his heart like nothing else, and that's all he cares about.
He gets snapped out of his thoughts by some rustling, Yuta took out what looks like medicine and slips a hand on the back of Taeyong's neck, holding it at his lips.
Yuta: "open"
Taeyong: "who are you, my mother?"
That comment received a death glare from the readhead, who forcefully pulled Taeyong's head on his legs, the the other opening his mouth to get the pill, Yuta carefully holding a bottle of water he had in his backpack to help him swallow.
The silence between them is awkward.
Neither of them looking at each other.
Both their hearts speeding.
Suddenly, a loud thump is heard, the automatic recording coming out of the speaker in the elevator saying what sounded more like a mumble because of the bad quality of the audio, the only words somewhat understandable are "issue", "broken", "assistance" and "stay calm", and that's all it takes to receive a sigh from the both of them.
Taeyong: "it broke, didn't it?"
Yuta simply nods, leaning against the wall behind him, still holding Taeyong's head.
Well, this is going to be a loooong night.

insane because of you
FanfictionTaeyong and Yuta hated each other, and they still do. I mean, a rich, fake, and selfish boy couldn't tolerate the presence of a sassy redhead who doesn't know his place. Hold on, let me rephrase that. They think it would be correct to say they hate...
