I watched as Michael gripped hold of the steering wheel hard. So hard that his knuckles turned white.
"Michael, please calm down." I said. He didn't reply just untensed his knuckles downward little bit.
We arrived and he unlocked the door. I entered and saw his mum, sitting at the table.
"Oh my god." She stood and walked over to me, lifting my chin and looking at my lip and bloody chin.
"Mum, this is Julianne. She has nowhere else to stay and...."
"Just for the night, ma'am. I hate to intrude on your family time." I politely responded. Mikey made me sound so needy. I hated it.
"Stay as long as needed. Go get fixed up and then dinner's on the table. Help yourself." She replied smiling at me.
I smiled back and then winced at the pain.
Michael led me to his bathroom. I noticed hid house was so much nicer than ours.
It had everything, he even had his own bathroom.
We walked into it. I sat on the sink whilst he wet a cloth and wiped away the blood gently off my chin.
"So, my little vampire gunna tell me how this happened to you or?" He asked, his eyes glued to mine.
"It was a squirrel. A rabid squirrel. I was just trying to grab myself some dinner and it didn't agree with me." I smiled, wincing again. It made it bleed more.
He laughed.
"Seriously Juli. How did this happen?" He asked, wiping more of the blood that was thrown on my face.
"My dad, got a little upset that I called him a Viagroid son of a bitch...with a wrinkly cock." I laughed at the last part.
Michael noticed and smiled.
"You're pretty bad ass." He smiled. I nodded.
"There, all done." He leaned closer to me. He was taller than me, so he was eye level with me now.
He had these perfect green eyes.
Our lips suddenly met in a quick peck. I winced at the touch and he pulled away.
Both our eyes grew wide as I stood up and turned around to look in the mirror.
I looked horrible.
"He get some good hits. Damn." I touched my cheek. All the blood has risen to the surface making the flesh tender and hot.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that on the first day back." HR apologized.
I turned back around and leaned against the sink.
"Nothing I'm not used too. My father was a horrible person growing up." I said, feeling better that we weren't awkward about the kiss.
It felt good on the inside, but hurt on the outside.
We walked back downstairs and I took a seat on one of the chairs, the nearest to his mother.
"I wanted to thank you for letting me stay, Mrs. Clifford." I said, she nodded and said,
"Anytime. And you can call my Karen." She smiled. I nodded and began to eat.
That night, I pulled out my books from my bags onto Michael's bed and started studying for a test we have when we get back.
Michael was taking a shower.
He came out in a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt. His hair was a messy mop atop his head.
He looked at me with confusion.
"You're on holiday and you want to study? You're so strange." He said, taking a seat beside me and flipped through the TV channels.
He stopped at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so childish.
I smiled, I didn't care if it hurt. I couldn't help but smile around him for some reason.
"Well, I'm going to bed." He said, standing and grabbing a blanket and a pillow off the bed. He began to lay down on the ground, but I didn't allow it.
"You're on holiday, with your family in your own house. I think you deserve to sleep in your bed. I'll take the floor." I said, standing and snatching away the blanket and pillow.
"Are you sure?" He asked, I nodded and laid them on the floor. I then laid directly beside his bed in case I had another nightmare.
-2 hours later-
It's 1 am and I can't sleep. I haven't been able to sleep, I keep thinking about my mom. And Kamden, It's like my brain won't let me forget. I could hear Michael breathe from above me.
I gently stood and then tapped on his shoulder. He flustered his eyes open and I whispered, "Mikey, I can't sleep."
He sighed and pushed the duvet back enough for me to climb in next to him.
I gently rolled over to face him and nuzzled into his neck which smelt of cologne.
I loved that smell.
I could feel his pulse again on my mouth.
Beep beep beep beep.
It was so soothing. His breathing slowed and he wrapped his arms around my hips and pulled me closer to him. Our legs were entangled together.
His breathing calmed me until I closed my eyes and slept.
