I took a step onto the dance floor and proceeded to grind on anyone who came behind me. I took a sip of my beer.
Today had been one of those days when you feel like shit. I wanted to wash away all the pain that I felt.
And I was there. I was drunk.
The music made me dizzy and I felt weak. I suddenly fell to the floor. Everything went black.
I opened my eyes and met Michael's green ones. He looked angry while he picked away at the strings of his guitar.
"Michael?" I asked.
"Yeah?" He snapped.
"What happened?" I asked, sitting up on my bed and holding my pounding head.
"Natalie had to call Ashton to come and get you from the party last night. You were drunk and passed out." He sounded angered.
"Should have just left me." I remembered the pain I felt yesterday. I haven't given up on the fact that it was my fault that Kamden jumped off that building.
He stood up.
"I could not have let Ashton do that." He said, standing in front of the microwave. He opened it and grabbed the cup out of it.
He handed it to me.
"What is it?" I asked, taking the cup.
"Herbal tea. Helps with headaches." He said, taking a seat on his bed.
"When she jumped... I felt so, so guilty." I said, sniffling through my nose.
"Don't do that to yourself." He said, putting his guitar back up on the wall.
I took a sip of the tea. I noticed that it was dark out.
"What time is it?" I asked.
"2 am."
"What? At the party, it was 3 am." I noticed. Did I sleep for a day?
"Yes. You didn't wake up yesterday. Missed school." He said, taking out his books and began studying.
I looked at my sticks on the desk. I then looked out the window and saw that there was no one and the band area was empty on the outside.
The drum room was soundproof. Can't hear it anywhere unless you're inside.
I stood and moved his books before saying, "Call the boys." I said. He looked confused but did so.
Soon after, they knocked on the door. I opened it whilst I slipped on my sweater and my boots and then carefully walked to the end of the hallway then down the stairs.
Ashton, Luke, Michael and Calum all followed close behind me. We made our way to the band area and opened the door. I took them into the drumming room and looked at the set.
It looked so nice. Ashton rubbed his tired eyes.
I took out the stool and sat. I took a deep breath and started playing.
I played for about 5 minutes and then stopped. They were all speechless.
"I lost my speed, but I haven't played in more than two years." I said, trying to break the silence.
"You're so good. That was wow." Calum said, applauding. I blushed as Ashton's eyes grew wide.
"Play for me." I asked him. He nodded and I stood up while he took a seat and backed away.
It felt so good to play. To have someone tell me that I was good.
Ashton played and then we all head back to our dorms. Tomorrow was Saturday and on the weekends we get to do whatever we wanted.
I was planning on going to see a new movie, called Magic Mike XXL.
Me and Natalie had a date planned. I love me some Channing Tatum.
"What are you doing tomorrow?" Michael asked, pulling off his shirt and putting on a tank top.
"Going to see Magic Mike. Why?"
"Oh my god. Really?" He looked disgusted. I nodded and laughed.
"Yes. Channing Tatum is sexy!" I yelled. He shushed me and said, "Well, I hope you have fun."
I nodded and turned off the light. I looked at the small light near the foot of my bed. I couldn't sleep in pitch black.
I gently fell asleep.
