Class A and Class B stepped onto the industrial training grounds, all geared up in their hero costumes so  graciously provided to them through the school. Well, most of them. Sora stepped out in her way-too-expensive and official suit that the Commission had made for her, though she kept her hood down and excluded her mask as she felt no need to obstruct her face from her classmates today. In fact, she wanted Class B to get a damn good look at her when they lost.

"We're going to have a special guest this time," Vlad interrupted the students' chatter.

"Please don't do anything to embarrass yourselves. He's trying to transfer into the Hero Department." Shinsou, the purple-haired boy that Sora had threatened before the Sports Festival, arrived in a U.A. training uniform with a black mask of some kind and a scarf-like weapon that resembled Eraserhead's. "Go ahead and greet everyone."

"I know I've already encountered many of you at the Sports Festival, but you won't catch me thinking that we're all buddies now that we've exchanged blows. I'm not some good-natured person trying to tout a superficial sense of sportsmanship. The fact of the matter is, I've gotten a late start and I've already been left in the dust by hundreds of steps by you all.

"I'm sorry, but I'm desperate. I will become a great hero, so that I can use my quirk to help others. All of you here today are obstacles that I must overcome. I have no intention of making friends." Sora narrowed her eyes at the purple-haired boy. She had an inkling that her previous vacancy is what led to this late tryout.

"Sora," Aizawa called. She swallowed thickly. I knew it. "This is a tryout for you as well. Just because the Commission cleared you doesn't mean U.A. has." She leered at her teacher for the conniving stunt he was pulling. "Prove it to your classmates and I that you still belong here."

Everyone had quieted after their teacher's words. This was Sora's first time using her quirk again around her classmates without the Commission's permission. They had almost forgotten that she'd been gone for so long. Her presence this week had been so comfortable that it felt like she never left. "Alright, let's get right down to it, then."

"Combat exercises! This time around, it's a battle between Class A versus Class B! And the stage will be this section of Training Field Gamma! Each side will split up into groups of four, and one team from each will battle it out at a time!"

"Today, Shinsou will be participating in two battles, one on Class A's side and one with Class B. In other words, out of five matches, two of them will be five versus four."

"But that means the teams with four have a clear disadvantage," someone complained.

"Trying to integrate Shinsou, who had next to no experience, into your team of four will likely be an even bigger disadvantage. It's true that the team of five had a numerical advantage, but they'll still have a handicap."

"The setting for this battle is 'the heroes move to surround the villain group and capture them'! Each team shall perceive the other as the villains. Once either team captures four members of the other, it's their victory."

"'Once either team captures four members of the other'... So that's the handicap, eh?" Sora looked over to Bakugou and barely shook her head. There wasn't a chance in hell that Aizawa would let Shinsou go up against or team up with someone like Bakugou. He'd either get blown to bits or get caught in the crossfire. It wasn't exactly a fair tryout if they put him with King of Explodo Kills.

"Yup. Not only do you have to team up with an inexperienced member, but also, even if you're a team of five, you'll still lose if four of you are captured." More complaints were spewed by the students but the teachers just brushed it aside. "Alright then."

"Time to draw lots." After drawing her ball, Sora landed herself on Team Two with Tokoyami, Yaoyorozu, and Aoyama. While she thanked the stars she wasn't stuck trying to work with Bakugou, she couldn't help but frown at her rag-tag team. She couldn't even imagine a strategy as none of their quirks seemed compatible in the slightest.

While the first teams began their fights, Sora gathered with her teammates so they could try and build a strategy. She knew right off the bat that Yaoyorozu was gonna take the lead on the situation without being elected but decided to just go along with it. Worst case scenario, Sora planned to take matters into her own hands if she had to. She couldn't afford to lose this fight.

The first fight went pretty well for Class A and Shinsou. They were able to successfully throw everyone into jail and secure the victory, albeit losing Kirishima in the process.

"Then, without further ado, Team Two! Prepare for the second set!" Class B's Team Two consisted of Kendo, Kuroiro, Fukidashi, and Komori. Sora stomped behind the group with a frown on her face as she felt failure creeping up on her. Not only was Class B's team much more put-together in her opinion, but Yaoyorozu's plan didn't exactly seem fruitful. She knew right off the bat that there wasn't enough offensive and defensive balance as a group to lead to victory. This whole thing was leaving a bad taste in her mouth. "And now, Team Two! Go get 'em, Kendo! Start!"

To begin their attack before Class B had the chance, Tokoyama sent Dark Shadow to take on the opposing team to try and get the jump on them. The group approached as well on foot with the bird boy taking the lead. Sora remained at the back of the group, her lips pressed together in a fine line. Suddenly, Tokoyami came to a screeching halt as Dark Shadow appeared to be coming back to the group.

"Everyone disperse!" Sora zapped herself off to the side and out of the way of the out-of-control Dark Shadow. "Dark Shadow return―" The creature punched Tokoyami, startling the group.

It appeared to focus on Aoyama next who could only tremble as it looked down on him. Using her lightning, Sora lit the shadow beast up, revealing Kuroiro who had taken control of Dark Shadow with his quirk. As he began to run away, Yaoyorozu threw capture nets at him but was unsuccessful due to his agility. He then jumped into another shadow, completely disappearing from their view.

The group stood back to back, trying to pinpoint his location. Sora knew that she could use her quirk to track his movements based on his body's electrical signals, but it would take too much of her energy right off the bat.

All of a sudden, Kuroiro grabbed Aoyama's sparkly purple cape and dragged him along the pipes and back to their base. Sora and Yaoyorozu ran after him on foot while Tokoyami took to the sky, using Dark Shadow as a set of wings. He grabbed the blonde male, successfully recovering their stolen teammate and began returning fire. Aoyama used his Navel Laser to light up the shadows and force Kuroiro back into the open.

Sora was about to jump into a stream and take the boy by force but found her body being covered in hundreds of mushrooms. Though there was no effect, she felt extremely grossed out by the sudden growth of millions of mushrooms all around them. Though the mushrooms fell off of her body one by one as her body temperature was too high for them to remain alive, more continued to grow in their places. It was like a never-ending cycle of fungi.

In her panic, she lost sight of Kuroiro and scowled.

"Everyone, remain calm! First of all, let's regroup," Yaoyorozu yelled. However, she was cut short.

"Whack! Thud! Boom," echoed through the tunnels of pipes. "Ahhh! Bam, crash!" Before anyone could react, a wall of giant letters spewed out at the group. While the wall managed to separate Yaoyorozu from the others, it hit Sora head on, sending her flying from the impact. She tumbled against the concrete, the air in her lungs knocked out by the force of her fall. She coughed a bit as her body finally came to a hault.

The silver-haired girl laid in the dust and simply stared at the sky. It had been a long time since she'd been hit hard like that. It made her head spin. Sora debated letting her body relax and fainting like it wanted, however she knew she'd be looked down on if she did. This was her chance to redeem herself and prove her worth to the class and her teachers.

Her muscles ached as she slowly pulled herself up from the ground. A tsk escaped her lips as she dusted herself off, shivering at the feeling of mushrooms still covering her suit. Yaoyorozu was a smart girl and made good plans, but Kendo seemed to have one-upped her this time.
