PLEASE NOTICE— CHAPTER ELEVEN.

Violet Ortello came out of the womb as a loyal protector. There was a fire inside of her that burned when someone threatened her family. It was like a switch that flipped. She saw red.

The circumstances surrounding Violet's tendency was unknown. Everyone assumed it was because Violet was driven, loving, and loyal.

Violet thought it was more than that. She thought that there was something in her DNA that made her different. Something that turned her strong feelings into something much darker.

The rage ignited her when Tara was almost killed.

The rage surrounded her when Sam was attacked.

The rage drowned her when Wes was murdered.

The rage consumed her when she found Chad dead.

Even now, she had moved Chad to safety but there was no telling if he would survive long enough to get help. The red was consuming. It was everywhere. It coated her sights like the blood coated her body.

All she could think about was making ghostface pay for what they did.

Violet crept into the house, a golf club she'd stolen from Amber's shed as her only weapon. She prayed it would be enough but ghostface was in the house and she had no clue where anyone was. She needed to be able to protect herself.

She walked through the house, trying to quietly cross the perimeter of each room as the floor creaked beneath her. Blood spattered the walls of the living room, painting it red.

Violet tried to hide her gasp at the sight of Liv's dead body, a hole penetrating her skull. She stepped gently over the girl to move around the room that was torn apart by disaster.

Glass was shattered around the floor, bullet holes penetrated the walls all around. That wasn't the worst part though.

The worst part was seeing Mindy bleeding out. The worst part was running toward her and seeing her unconscious. The worst part was that even as Violet bandaged Mindy's wounds, she couldn't tell if it would save the girl. Just like she couldn't tell if she had saved her brother.

"I'm gonna end this. I just need you to hold on, okay? I love you. You're my family and I want to grow old with you and yell at horrible remakes. So, just hold on." Violet clasped her hands around Mindy, slightly moving the girl to a better position to slow the bleeding, leaving a kiss on the girls head a sentiment.

Violet had never been so glad to take first aid training in her life.

The noise continued around Violet. She had heard several gunshots come from inside the house as she ventured in. The echoes of grunts and fighting tore through the house.

Violet escaped through the kitchen, sneaking up to the back of the staircase to get a better look. Just as she approached the room, two bodies fell from the balcony above, landing only spaces before her.

Grunts expelled both of the bodies as Sidney Prescott and ghostface pelted the floor. A voice came from the stairwell, communicating with the girl on the floor but Violet didn't hear them.
