PLEASE NOTICE— CHAPTER THIRTEEN.

When the Woodsboro teens arrived at the hospital they were bloody and dying. Violet and Chad had the worst injuries out of all of them. Luckily, both the teens made it safely out of surgery.

Violet stirred underneath the bright hospital lights. Her eyes fluttered open to the white lights and soft beeping of the machine.

"Hey." Chad's soft voice coaxed Violet from her hazy slumber. "Don't try to sit up."

Chad reached forward and gently pressed the button that angled the hospital bed. He had been sitting by Violet's been since she woke up, much to his parents and doctor's dismay. But he needed to see for himself that she was okay and he didn't want her to wake up alone.

So, they compromised and brought his morphine drip into her room and make him sit in a comfortable chair.

"You're here." Violet whispered, she stared lovingly at the boy in front of her as he stared at her with love and comfort.

"Of course I'm here." Chad took Violet's hand in his, gently rubbing his thumb over the middle of it. "How are you feeling?"

Violet eyed the touch, smiling lightly before blowing out a breath. "Like I just got stabbed a bunch of times."

Her brown eyes met Chad's as they twinkled with humor, the edges of his squinting in return.

"Yeah, me too." Chad scoff-laughs, ushering a smile from Violet's face.

"There's so much I need to you." Violet's forehead crinkles as despair lightly glazes her face.

Chad notes the hesitancy on her face, the horrors of the night still fresh on their minds.

"Tomorrow. Today, I just want to spend time with the girl I love." Chad smiles at Violet, seeing the slightly baffled expression on her face but he doesn't regret the words. In fact, he'd say them any time she wanted. "I love you, Violet. I couldn't remember how to breathe but I remembered I loved you ."

Tears swarm in Violet's eyes as her heart skips a beat. "You still love me?" She couldn't imagine it was possible. For so long she'd wanted the words to fall from the boys lips and last night he'd said them, then Violet had killed someone for him.

"Until the end of my life." Chad's words held promise. It was true—even while he was bleeding out, Violet was his lifeline. She'd quite literally breathed him back to life and then killed someone for him. He would do the same for her.

"That's a very poor choice of words." Violet laughed through the tears, eyes never leaving the boy in front of her. She couldn't imagine ever parting from him again.

"Yeah, I heard it as it came out but it was already too late and—" Chad started, laughing lightly at the horrible situation they were in.

"I really love you." Violet announced, pouring her soul into the boy as she watched him stammer on with admiration.

"I love you."  He repeated. In truth, he couldn't remember where Violet ended and he began. It had always been that way. Loving her had never snuck up on him because it had always existed.

"I totally would've loved to tell you that when you weren't bleeding out and dying but—" Sarcasm coats Violet's tongue as she drowns on, quickly being interrupted by Chad.

"You told me before." The words are simple as the fall from his lips but the truth lies beyond them. This is the moment where they lay all their cards on the table.

"I did." Violet confirms, wrapping her thumb over the rest of his hand to smooth it in the same motion.

"I'm sorry I didn't hear it." Chad announces, despair lingering. The whole mess because of a miscommunication.

"You're hearing it now." Violet promises.
