I'm, as you recall, Magnolia Rider. Daughter of Rapunzel and Flynn. So last year was a bit of a whorl wind. Where do I start?
My best friend, now king of Auradon, welcomed four Villian kids to give them a chance. Before them my sister, Gianna Gothel-Rider was the only Vk here.
At Ben's coronation they defeated Maleficent, Mal'a mom. Things have been pretty quiet since then but now with cotillion coming up everyone is a busy bee.
Including me.
I got stuck on decorating committee since Audrey is away with Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather. Jane would have done it but then she decided to go away for a little while on a college tour.
I was in charge of just about everything so I didn't have time to make dresses. Evie offered to do it for us free of charge.
Carlos and I have been hanging out a lot recently as well. I can't tell what's up with him though. He always seems a little nervous and far off.
As of right now I was sitting in my dorm with Gianna and Dahlia. Gianna as always was talking about how she just wished Jay would hurry up and ask her to cotillion. I wished he would too so she's shut the hell up about it.
"You think Marcie is coming?" Dahlia asked checking her watch. Marceline and Meredith, the daughters of Merida, have been close friends since forever.
Marcie and Dahlia are the same age so they get on like two peas in a pod while Meredith is the same age i it as GiGi and I so we tend to hang out a lot as well.
"Merida told Mom that the girls would be here around 4:30," I stopped my writing and turned to my younger sister. "What time is it now?"
"4:31," Dahlia said causing us to laugh at her. Just then there was a knock at the door followed by two Irish accents.
"Hello?" Marcie said on the other side of the door. Dahlia quickly jumped up and ran over to the door.
"Marcie bear!" Dahlia engulfed her friend in a hug.
"Hello Dahlia!" The redhead smiled reciprocating the same embrace.
"Hi Mere!" GiGi called from the bed as the older redhead made her way into the room.
"Hey Gi, hey Mags," she smiled sitting on my bed. "Anything interesting happened while I was away?"
Once she said that Gianna told her all about the Vks and Jay and coronation. Since I'd been there to witness it all I couldn't care less but then I heard her say something that caught my attention. "And Maggie really likes one of the VKs."
"Gianna!" I gasped dramatically. "That was a secret I told you in confidence!"
We laughed as the younger two decided to head out of the dorm for an adventure. After a while I looked down at my watch to find I was late and I had to ask Mal and Ben stuff about Cotillion.
"Fuck! I'm late," I jumped up grabbing my purse and my tablet that had everything on it along with pieces of glass for Ben's surprise for Mal. "I'll catch you guys later."
With my last words I ran out of the dorm and quickly walked around to try and find Mal and Ben. As I walked I began checking my list of things I needed.
"Mal," I said when I finally saw her with the other Vks. Including Carlos.
My heart fluttered a bit when he whispered a soft "Hey Mags."
"Hey," I smiled at him.
"I was wondering, uh..." he looked a littler nervous and his expression poured into his voice. "If you liked the Carrot cake last night?"
I giggled slightly at his question. "I had the pumpkin pie."
"Oh cool, um. Uh." Jay quickly dragged him away while he continued to stutter random things.
"I have an open for a fitting at 3 who wants it?" Evie asked Lonnie and I.
"Me!" Lonnie replied quickly. "Sorry."
"Perfect. I'll take you later," Evie told me before walking off with Lonnie.
"Mal I hate to bug you but the decorating committee needs more answers," I told her quickly unlocking my iPad. "So as much as I hate to um, you know um."
"Bug me?"
"yeah. "
"Well Maggie I would love you but I gotta get to class."
I began listing off the things that we had already picked out. "But you still have to pick out party favors."
"Honestly Mags I-"
"Pencil toppers, keychains, charms," I began rambling. "I mean I kinda love the pen toppers but we can do all three."
I looked up at Mal and a emerald green glow was in her eyes like a jolt of energy went through her body and I was stuck in place until she finally spoke.
"I say pen toppers," she smiled. "Yeah."
"You won't regret it," I smiled checking it off the list.
"I can hardly wait to see what your wedding will look like," Lonnie smiled at Mal and I nodded in agreement.
"Me too," Mal said clearly not paying attention to anything we were saying until she caught herself. "Wait what!"
"The Royal Cotillion is like getting engaged to be engaged to be engaged," I said as if it was a common fact everybody knew.
"I knew it," Evie gasped.
"Everyone knows it," Lonnie said.
"I didn't know it! How come nobody told me that?" Mal was beginning to freak out as Ben crept up behind her.
"Hi Mal," Ben greeted his girlfriend.
"Hi Ben," we all chimed in unison while Mal shot daggers with her eyes.
"Oh oh quick moment," I pulled Ben away to discuss this surprise for Mal. "We need to discuss the last details for Mal's big night. Snow White, Belle, but the one you've designed for Mal is my favorite."
"Make sure her eyes are green," Ben reminded me before turning to Mal. "I'll see you later."
"Okay," She said lightly and when Ben turned back to me I handed him some glasses samples to pick chose from.
After examining them he went with a very deep emerald. And I smiled at the choice.
"This one," he breathed out holding it up against the light.
"Perfect I'll be sure to report back to the decorating committee," I snagged the piece of glass and quickly walked off.
