The Isle is honestly scary. The people haven't really bothered us but we've low key been scared to run into Gothel. Gianna has always said she misses her but she can't forgive her for everything she's done.
Evie's told us how we have to act around here. Lay low, act cool. Don't need to proper. Never smile. Don't try talking to anyone.
"Hey man," this really buff blonde guy bumped into Ben. "Hey I know you."
We all acted stupid at his accusations, well at least 4 of us were acting. "Don't know you either man." Ben played it off.
"Uh, yeah you do," the guy in front of us stated. "Really? Nothing? Dude I'll give you a hint and my dad is quick slick and his neck, is incredibly thick."
When he didn't get any where with his riddle he began grasping for straws. "Cmon man." He looked at the poster behind us which had Ben's face on it and we all looked between the boy and the poster trying to make the connection. "Oh! You're King Ben! Yeah yeah you totally are King Ben! Jay, Carlos, Evie, hey guys! You girls to hiya!"
We began walking away. No one said anything about the boy we just saw. I was curious though. Who is he?
"Here we are," Jay said as we approached a caged in flight of stairs. Jay took a big rock and threw it at the sign that stated 'DANGER Flying Rocks'.
"Wish me luck," Ben turned around and looked at us from the stairs. He was obviously scared and was having second thoughts.
"All the way up," Jay pointed to the top of the stairs.
"Good luck," I called out behind him. I nervously ran my hands through my hair as we waited for Ben's return.
"So what do we do while the lad is upstairs?" Meredith asked causing us to all turn to her.
"We play the waiting game," Evie answered.
A few minutes later Ben came back down the stairs and we all stood up hopeful that Mal was close behind but as he approached nearer we saw
nothing
"Where's Mal?" Evie asked a mix frustration and confusion painted her face and tone.
"She's not comin' back," Ben was disappointed, understandably but I tried comforting him.
"What?" Evie whispered.
I tried patting Ben's shoulder but he just kept walking away causing me to retreat my hand. I disappointedly leaned back on the pole.
"I'll talk to her," Evie walked over to a horn thing that was on the pole in front of me. "M. Mal it's Evie let me just talk to you for a second."
"Mal come on."
A moment later we heard Mal's reply. "Go away!"
"Let's give her a couple hours and cook off," Jay said pulling Evie back slightly. Gianna, who was stand on Jay's side, nodded in agreement.
"Guys!" Carlos called with panic in his tone causing Mere and I to move closer toward the group. "Where's Ben?"
We all looked down the long alleyway where Ben had been walking. There was no sign of Ben. Not even an outline was visible and panic began to wash over me.
"Ben?" Evie calls down the alley. A figure was approaching us now. I could tell deep down that it was not Ben that was coming near us.
Everyone else let out a sigh of relief. "Ben don't scare us like that."
"Don't scare you?" The person was now in front of us, clearly not Ben. He had a thick accent and heavy eye makeup that matched his jet black hair. "That's my specialty."
"Harry," Evie breathed out.
"What did you do to Ben?" Jay started walking toward Harry but Giana pulled his arm back.
"Nothing to draw attention," she whispered just loud enough for me to hear.
"Oh um, we nicked him," Harry pointed off into the distance. "Mhm. And if you want to see him again, have Mal come to the Chip Shoppe tonight. Alone. Uma wants a little visit."
This Harry character rubs me the wrong way. I don't like how cocky he's being and after just a short moment of silence he added, "Awe, Jay. It seems like you've lost your touch."
Jay lunged at him again but was pulled back by both Evie and GiGi. "Jay," Evie called trying to get him to gain some control.
Harry in the other hand laughed and then turned to walk down the alley again, whistling a tune.
After we explained everything to Mal she was visibly upset with us. "If you guys never would have brought him here this never would have happened! What were you thinking!" Mal scolded.
"He was gonna come with or without us we wanted to protect him!" Evie defended before Mal turned to the three of us sitting on the couch.
"And you three? What did you come for!"
"We came to be here for our friends!" Giana stood up. "I was the last person who wanted to come here! I would rather be in my bed than here, with the chance of running into my mother! But I didn't turn on my friends!"
"Yeah and we completely blew it!" Carlos added on throwing his hands up slightly.
"Okay! Okay! What are we gonna do?" Jay asked looking at everyone in the room.
"We are not doing anything," Mal stated stomping down the stairs. "This is between Uma and Me. And she's a punk and guess what now I have to go get him!"
"Woah woah woah," Carlos said. "You're still gonna have to go through Harry Hook and his war frats!"
"Yeah you're gonna need us," Jay chimed in.
"Uma said to come alone," Mal stated and as much as I didn't wanna be right in the moment that was a fact, Uma said come alone.
"Mal-" Evie started but Carlos cut her off.
"She said come alone," He said lowly before adding "I know one thing, I'm not leaving" and sitting in the coach.
"We'll be here when you get back," Jay reassured. Mal said nothing though. Instead she just walked out leaving us all alone and awaiting her return.
