Cue bobbed her knee anxiously as she watched the phone in her hand ring, she chewed on her lip, a nervous habit she hadn't done in years. Coach Mo picked up on the third ring.

After her talk with Azzi, Cue decided she needed advice from someone who was more experienced in this aspect of life and Coach Mo was the only person she trusted with this. She knew he wouldn't sugarcoat anything and would give her the complete honest truth without lecturing her like Azzi did.

"What's up babygirl, is everything good?" Mo asked as soon as he answered the phone, it felt good to hear his voice, guilt gnawed at Cue for not calling him more often.

"I mean yes and no, I just have a lot of shit going on right now, but you remember Nika right?"

Coach Mo chuckled at that, "How could I forget? Especially with the way you were staring at her like she's the only person in the world."

Cue sighed, remembering the comment Coach Mo had made she first introduced Nika to him. "So basically we ended up sleeping together..."

Coach Mo made an uncomfortable noise, "I'm happy for you kid but I really do not need to know the details of your sex life."

"No there's more," Cue insisted while exhaling gently. "After everything I got a call from work and I just freaked out and told her that we shouldn't have done what we did and I left her alone in my apartment. She was gone when I came back of course."

"In all my years of knowing you Cue, you never once thought before you spoke." She could hear the blatant disappointment in Mo's voice, he was right. Cue was often impulsive and reckless, especially when it came to her words. Her mouth had put her in so many fucked up situations.

Cue rubbed her forehead, she felt a migraine coming. "Yes I know, I fucked up and I've been regretting it every second that I've been away from her, I'll do anything to make it up to her." Cue chuckled to herself as the bittersweet memory of the time Nika had practically forced her to watch a bunch of 80s movies entered her mind, it all felt so long ago now. "I'll even stand outside of her apartment with a boombox over my head if I have to."

"Okay John Cusack, First things first," Coach Mo started seriousness in his voice, "Is she worth going through all this trouble for."

For a second Cue thought Mo was going to ask her different question, but either way the answer came out of Cue's mouth easily and without hesitation, like breathing. "Yes, of course she's worth it." Nika had been worth it the minute Cue saw those big brown eyes staring at her.

There was a beat of silence on the other end of the line and Cue could tell Coach Mo was thinking of what to say next. He hadn't expected her to answer as quickly as she did and honestly neither did Cue. Normally she didn't care if people stuck around or not, but Nika was different.

Coach Mo cleared his throat before asking her another question. "Does she know that?"

Cue's face fell as she realized she never told Nika that she liked her back, she just kissed her instead. Reminiscing about the whole situation made Cue feel even worse. "No, she doesn't."

"Then start there, tell her how you feel and stop being so damn avoidant all the time."

Cue nodded in agreement, even though Mo couldn't see her, "Yea, you're right, I'll go and talk to her later today."
