3rd person POV

The robot began to move away, carrying the struggling Sonic in its grasp. Sonic's voice echoed in the distance as he called out, "SHADOW!!" his cry filled with desperation and fear.

Shadow POV

"SHADOW!!" That was the last thing I heard from Sonic before everything went dark. The pain from the bullet was painful. What could it have been made of to hurt this much?..

Minutes later, I slowly regained consciousness. The pain was still there, throbbing intensely, but I forced myself to focus. My surroundings gradually came into view, and I tried to make sense of what had happened.

"Ugh... Sonic?" I groaned as I looked around, trying to find him amidst the haze. My vision was still blurry.
Still trying to make out his blue figure nearby.

"Sonic? SONIC!!" I called out, panic rising in my chest. My heart raced as I desperately searched for any sign that he was okay.

Until I remembered what had happened:

**Flashback**

The robot began to move away, carrying the struggling Sonic in its grasp. Sonic's voice echoed in the distance as he called out, "SHADOW!!" His cry was filled with desperation and fear. I could hear his voice, but I was too weak to respond or give chase.

**End of Flashback**

"Fuck..." I muttered under my breath.
I took a deep breath and tried to stand myself, focusing on the direction the robot had gone. Sonic's cries for help had been unmistakable, and I couldn't let him down. I walked forward, pushing through the pain.

"Stupid wound..." I muttered, clutching my side as I pressed on.
Each step reminded me of the injury, but I couldn't afford to slow down. Sonic needed me.

So I sped off, ignoring the pain and focusing solely on finding Sonic. The landscape blurred around me as I pushed my limits, determined to reach him before it was too late.

Rouge POV

I was walking with my boyfriend Knuckles, enjoying the day, but I couldn't shake the nagging worry about what Shadow was up to. He wasn't on a mission, but something felt off.

"Knuckles, do you think Shadow is okay?" I asked, glancing at him as we strolled through the park.

"Uh... I don't know, but I think he will be fine?" Knuckles responded, his voice uncertain.
"Yeah, you're right-" I started to say, "But my words were cut off when something suddenly bumped into Knuckles." My eyes widened as I saw Shadow, looking desperate.

"SHADOW?! WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOU?!" I exclaimed, rushing to his side. Knuckles' expression turned serious as he moved to help support Shadow.

"I'm fine..." Shadow spoke out, his voice strained but determined. However, the pain in his eyes told a different story.

"You don't look 'fine' to us," I responded, my concern evident in my voice. "What happened, Shadow?"

"*Sigh*... I need help," Shadow admitted. It was clear that whatever had happened was serious, and he couldn't handle it alone.

Meanwhile with Sonic...

"Ugh..." the merhog groaned, struggling against the chains that bound his fin tail, neck, and arms. Sonic was trapped in a glass cage, his weakened state making it impossible for him to break free. His eyes darted around desperately, hoping for any sign of rescue.

"Well, well, well... I can't believe that I have finally captured a merhog! Goody me!" The figure behind the shadows said with sinister glee. Sonic's heart pounded in his chest as he tried to make out the voice, but it was unfamiliar to him.

"Who are you? What do you want from me?!" Sonic demanded, his voice shaky.

"Call me, Dr. Eggman, my dear, and I want the same thing I've been waiting for months... your power," the figure replied, stepping into the light with a diabolical grin.

"What do you mean by that?" Sonic asked, confusion and fear evident in his voice as he tried to understand the doctor's sinister plan.

Dr. Eggman's grin widened. "You see, merhog, your unique merhog energy is exactly what I need. With your power, I can create a new army of invincible machines and finally dominate this world."

Sonic's eyes widened in horror. "You're insane! I won't let you use me for your twisted schemes!"

Eggman's smile."Oh, but you don't have a choice. Unless you want to suffer more, you'll cooperate and help me harness your powers."

Sonic's mind raced, trying to think of a way out of this. He knew he needed to stay strong and find a way to escape before it was too late.

But before Sonic could react, sharp electric pain began going through his body. He screamed in horror as the agony intensified, his cries echoing through the glass cage. Dr. Eggman watched with a cruel satisfaction, his plan unfolding as Sonic's struggles grew more.

"AAAHH!!!!" Sonic screamed, his voice filled with pain as the sharp agony overwhelmed him. He thrashed against his chains, but they held him fast, leaving him powerless to escape the torment.

"I think that's enough," Eggman said as he pressed a button to stop the electrical surge. The pain ceased abruptly, and Sonic slumped in his chains, gasping for breath. Dr. Eggman's eyes gleamed with a mix of satisfaction and impatience.

Blood dripped from Sonic's nose and mouth as he lay slumped in the chains, his breathing ragged. The brutal electroshock had taken a heavy toll on him, leaving him weakened.

"Shadow..." Sonic thought, his mind clinging to the hope that his friend would come to his rescue. The pain and desperation made the thought of Shadow's arrival.

"*Cough* *cough*" Sonic wheezed, struggling to regain his composure.
His vision blurred, but he kept his thoughts focused on the hope that Shadow or someone else might find him before it was too late.

"Poor thing," Eggman chuckled, watching Sonic's suffering with a cruel smile. "I'll come back when you stop coughing like a poor dog." With that, he turned and walked away, leaving Sonic in his painful isolation.
