CHAPTER 31
It was the night of the dinner, a week after Ava had met up with her father, Ava and Brett were getting ready in Ava's room, both dressed in elegant attire.
As Ava looked at herself in the mirror, a mixture of anxiety and excitement filled her chest. She turned to Brett, who was watching her intently, and asked, "Are you sure you're okay with this dinner
?"Brett chuckled softly and stood up from the bed, walking over to Ava and placing a gentle kiss on her lips. He slipped his hand around her waist and pulled her closer, looking into her eyes.
"Of course I'm more than okay with this dinner" he said, his voice warm and reassuring. "I've barely had a chance to talk to your dad in a normal setting, and this is a great opportunity for all of us to get to know each other better"
As they stood there, their bodies close, Ava felt a sense of reassurance wash over her. She closed her eyes and let herself melt into Brett's embrace.
Meanwhile, his hand began to wander, exploring the contours of her body, his touch igniting a familiar spark between them. They kissed deeply, their mouths moving against each other in a familiar dance of passion and intimacy.
The dress Ava was wearing was a short, flouncy number, leaving plenty of her legs exposed. Brett's hand had found its way under the hem, his fingers gently caressing the exposed skin just below her waist.
He pulled her even closer, his hand slowly moving further up her thigh, the touch of his fingers leaving a trail of heat in their wake.
Ava's breath caught in her throat as she felt the sensation of Brett's hand moving higher up her thigh. A soft moan escaped her lips, and she gripped his shoulders.
"We... we're going to be late" she gasped, her voice strained.
Brett chuckled, his mouth still close to her neck. He pulled away slightly and looked at her, his eyes dark and laced with desire. "We still have an hour and a half to get there," he replied, his voice low and sultry.
Brett's gaze darkened as his hands continued to roam over Ava's body. He leaned in to plant a series of kisses along her collarbone, causing her to shiver once again.
After a moment, he pulled back and looked at her with a mixture of desire and regretful pragmatism. "You're right," he said, his voice tinged with reluctance. "We don't want to keep your dad waiting. Maybe we should head out..."
They slowly untangled themselves from each other, their bodies reluctantly pulling apart. Brett ran a hand through his hair, his breathing still heavy from the intensity of their moment.
He picked up on the subtle disappointment in Ava's eyes and leaned in to give her a quick kiss on her lips. "Don't worry," he whispered, his voice low and suggestive. "We'll pick up right where we left off after the dinner"
Ava chuckled softly, her disappointment turning into a mixture of anticipation and excitement. She knew that this was just a temporary pause, and that the night was still young.
"You better keep that promise," she teased, fixing her dress and giving him a flirtatious look. "I'll be holding you to it"
Brett smirked and leaned in close to her ear, his breath hot against her skin. "You look so beautiful in that dress," he murmured, his voice a low rumble. "I can't wait to get you out of it later."With that, he gave her a lingering kiss on the neck before pulling away and leaving the room, leaving her breathless and flushed with anticipation.
