Silence ran through the empty streets in the dead cold night of November. His boots stomped on the concrete footpath following the path leading to the small jazz club to the end of the block. He opened the door even if the sign flashed 'closed'. Inside the ambience was a bit more eccentric than he anticipated.

"Look who finally made it to the party." a British accent greeted Klaus when he entered further into the bar and closed the door behind him. He looked to his left where the counter was to see a man sitting on a stool wearing an elite suit and a glass of scotch in hand. His gaze studied the suited man conflicted with the setting. His intentions of arriving at the particular jazz bar were solely due to an invitation phone call from the woman he had fallen head over heels.

"Dad, please no sarcasm." from the other end of the room came her voice soothing his paranoia. He turned with a smile on his face to see Marilyn standing there wearing beige bell bottom pants and a cropped shirt over it. Her red hair was flowing freely over her shoulders.

"What is going on?" He asked her, wrapping an arm around her waist when she was close enough and pressed a quick kiss on her lips.

"That's my dad. He wanted to meet you." She told him in a soft tone. Klaus looked at her for a complete minute believing she would erupt into laughter from pranking him. When her smile never faded neither did a prank gesture come, Klaus knew he stood in the presence of Lucifer Morningstar himself.

He turned to look at him once again, "Lucifer Morningstar? That's the..."

"Yes, Mr devil in disguise. That's the actual devil." She laughed seeing the perplexed reaction of Klaus.

"Don't worry. Not yet in the mind to send you to hell. Come on, join me for a drink." Lucifer invited Klaus over to him. He leaned over the table to get another glass and poured him a drink as well.

Klaus cleared his throat and joined Lucifer for a drink. "So the original vampire. Tell me what is it that you desire?" Lucifer looked at him using his ability to pry on him.

Klaus kept a steady look at him feeling an answer pushed up from within him. Something about Lucifer's voice or perhaps it was his angelic ability that made him feel compelled to answer truthfully. "I want to become a hybrid." Klaus replied monotonously under his spell. He blinked his eyes slumping his shoulders. "Why did I just say that?" He asked turning to look at Marilyn before returning it back on Lucifer.

Lucifer laughed showing off his teeth. He looked at his daughter, who had settled on a nearby table, "you were right. Well then, what is it that you want with my daughter?"

"I love her." Klaus answered him.

"Yes but what are your intentions. I don't want a power seeking man going after my daughter because of who she is." Lucifer stressed looking again at Klaus.

"I know it seems that way but I didn't meet her knowing she was half angel...let alone your daughter. It's not why I am with her." Klaus pointed out to Lucifer.

Lucifer considered Klaus's words. He looked at Marilyn and back at the original. When she brought up the topic of having a boyfriend during a night of drinks and dinner his initial thought was to scare the man to run for the hills. Maybe he was wrong. Lucifer felt protective of his daughter more so now that she was dating an original.

"Are you really choosing him?" asked Lucifer.

"Yes. Dad you promised you would get to know him before you send him either screaming to hell or running for hills." Marilyn reminded her father of the promise he made.
