Wangji slowly opened his eyes, groggily taking in his surroundings. He was met with the warm sunlight streaming through the windows, illuminating the elegant furnishings of his shared room. But what caught his attention was the empty space beside him - Wei Ying and Wuxian were already up and about.
"Ah, I'm so late," Wangji muttered to himself, throwing off the covers. He stretched his arms and yawned, feeling a lack of motivation wash over him. But today was a special day - the Jin Clan's young master's wedding.
After a quick wash in the bathroom, Wangji slipped into the beautiful white robe with intricate flower embroidery. He admired himself in the mirror, the robe fitting him perfectly.
"Wow, I look pretty good today," he said with a chuckle.
As he stepped out into the corridor, he was immediately struck by the vibrant decorations. Red lanterns hung from the ceiling, casting a warm glow over the hallway. The air was filled with the sweet scent of incense and the soft chirping of birds.
"Wow, the decorations are stunning!" Wangji exclaimed.
Suddenly, he heard a familiar voice behind him. "Looking good, brother! You're finally up!"
Wangji turned to see his brother, Xichen approaching him, dressed in his finest attire.
"You look amazing, Dage!" Wangji said, his eyes widening in admiration.
Xichen smiled. "Thanks, brother. I was starting to think you'd sleep through the whole wedding."
Xichen chuckled. "Come on, let's get going. You don't want to be late for the ceremony."
Wangji nodded, and the duo of them made their way through the beautifully decorated corridors, ready to celebrate the special day of jin clan ahead.
"Dage, where is Wei Ying?" Wangji asked his brother, Xichen, as they walked together towards the wedding hall.
"Wei Gongzi is busy with Madam Jin," Xichen replied, his eyes scanning the surroundings. "It's nice to see the brother and sister together after so many years. He's helping her ensure everything is perfect for his nephew's marriage. As the uncle, he wants to make sure everything goes smoothly."
Wangji nodded understandingly. "Ah, I see. That's so sweet of him."
As they approached the entrance of the hall, Wangji's eyes widened in awe. "Wow, the decorations are breathtaking!"
Xichen chuckled. "I know, right? The Jin Clan spared no expense in making this a memorable day."
Upon entering the hall, Wangji was struck by the sheer scale and beauty of the decorations. The walls were adorned with intricate paper cutouts, and the ceiling was covered in a stunning array of lanterns. The air was filled with the sweet scent of flowers, and the soft music of the guqin played in the background.
"Wow, this is incredible!" Wangji exclaimed. "Everything seems so romantic!"
Xichen smiled. "The Jin Clan knows how to throw a wedding. And look, there are the other clan leaders and their families."
Wangji followed his brother's gaze and noticed the esteemed guests mingling and chatting. He spotted the his uncle, Lan Qiren, laughing with Nie Sect leader.
"Let's go greet them," Xichen said, leading Wangji through the crowd.
As they made their way through the hall, Wangji couldn't help but feel a sense of joy and wonder.
Wangji's heart swelled with excitement as he approached his uncle, Lan Qiren. It had been eight long years since they last spoke, and the nostalgia washed over him like a warm wave.
