"Wuxian, where are you? Wuxian... Wuxian?" Wangji shouted, his voice echoing through the gardens as he searched for his mischievous partner. He gripped a sturdy stick in his hand, ready to unleash his wrath upon Wuxian's unsuspecting backside.
Wangji's anger had been simmering since morning, when Wuxian had playfully tossed him into the pond, ruining his expensive and finely tailored robes. The memory of his dignified self being soaked in the water, with Cherry and Jeonghan giggling uncontrollably, still made his face burn with indignation.
Determined to exact his revenge, Wangji approached the two little culprits, who were trying to stifle their grins. "Where's your papa?" he asked Cherry, his voice low and conspiratorial.
Cherry and Jeonghan exchanged a glance, their eyes sparkling with mischief. Then, in unison, they pointed towards a massive stone structure in the distance.
Wangji's eyes narrowed, a sly smile spreading across his face. "Ah, I see," he said, his voice dripping with anticipation. "Thank you, my little friends."
With a spring in his step, Wangji marched towards the stone, his stick at the ready. He could hardly wait to get his hands on Wuxian and teach him a lesson he would never forget. Little did he know, Wuxian was probably anticipating his arrival, a wicked grin spreading across his face as he prepared to face the music.
As Wangji approached the stone, he heard a faint humming noise coming from behind it. His eyes narrowed, his grip on the stick tightening. He crept around the stone, ready to pounce.
Wuxian was sitting on a rock, his back against the stone, his eyes closed in blissful ignorance. He was humming a gentle tune, a peaceful smile on his face.
Wangji's anger boiled over, and he raised the stick, ready to strike. But just as he was about to bring it down, Wuxian's eyes snapped open, and he looked up at Wangji with a mischievous grin.
"Ah, my love," Wuxian said, his voice dripping with sarcasm. "I see you're still wet from our little morning swim."
Wangji's face turned red with rage, and he growled, "You're going to pay for that, Wuxian."
But before he could strike, Wuxian jumped up and dodged out of the way, laughing. Wangji swung the stick, but it only hit the stone with a loud thud.
The chase was on, with Wangji hot on Wuxian's heels, determined to get his revenge. But Wuxian was too quick, too agile, and he led Wangji on a merry dance through the gardens, always staying just out of reach.
Wuxian dodged and weaved, his laughter echoing through the gardens as he expertly avoided Wangji's attempts to catch him. He leapt over a small stream, using the momentum to propel himself up a nearby hill.
Wangji followed close behind, his anger giving way to amusement at the absurdity of the situation. He couldn't help but laugh at Wuxian's antics, even as he tried to maintain his stern expression.
As they reached the top of the hill, Wuxian suddenly stopped and turned to face Wangji. His eyes sparkled with mischief, and he said, "You'll never catch me, my love!"
Wangji charged forward, but Wuxian was ready. With a quick flick of his wrist, he sent a nearby bucket of water pouring down on Wangji's head.
Wangji yelped in surprise, stumbling backward as the cold water soaked through his robes. Wuxian took advantage of the distraction to make his escape, disappearing into the nearby trees.
Wangji stood there, dripping wet and laughing. He shook his head, chuckling at Wuxian's cunning. "You win this time, my love," he called out, "but I'll get my revenge!"
