Next morning~
Wuxian and Wangji stood outside the Jin estate, ready to depart. Wangji bid farewell to his uncle and brother, his eyes shining with warmth.
"Uncle, Brother, I'll come back soon," Wangji promised, his voice filled with emotion.
"We'll miss you, Wangji," his uncle replied, his eyes misty. "Take care of yourself, and don't forget to write to us."
Wangji nodded, hugging his brother tightly. "I'll come back soon, Xichen. Take care of yourself too."
Meanwhile, Wuxian was saying his goodbyes to his sister, Yanli. "A-xian, why don't you stay a few days more?" Yanli asked, pouting.
Wuxian smiled, shaking his head. "I want to stay, but I have to take care of Yiling too. We'll meet soon, Shijie."
Yanli nodded, her eyes understanding. "I know, A-xian. You have to take care of your own people too. Come back soon, okay?"
Wuxian nodded, glancing over at Wangji, who was still hugging his brother. "Wangji, it's time now," Wuxian called out.
Wangji nodded, waving goodbye to his family as he walked towards Wuxian. "I'll come back soon, Uncle! Brother, take care!"
As they walked away from the estate, Wuxian turned to Wangji and smiled. "Ready to go home?"
Wangji nodded, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "Ready."
Wangji attempted to break the silence between them. "Hey, Wuxian, did you enjoy your time at the Jin estate?"
Wuxian grunted a response, his eyes fixed on some distant point outside the carriage window.
Wangji tried again. "I had a great time. My uncle and brother are really nice."
Wuxian nodded absently, his mind clearly preoccupied.
Wangji noticed Wuxian's distraction and wondered what was on his mind. "Hey, is everything okay? You seem a bit... distant."
Wuxian's gaze snapped back to the present, and he forced a smile. "I'm fine, Wangji. Just thinking about some... business matters."
Wangji's curiosity was piqued. "Business matters? What kind of business matters?"
Wuxian hesitated, unsure if he should share the information with Wangji. "It's just... something that came up recently. Don't mind me, I'm just thinking out loud."
Wangji sensed that Wuxian was hiding something, but he didn't press the issue. Instead, he asked, "Want to talk about it? Sometimes sharing your thoughts can help clarify things."
Wuxian's expression turned serious, and he leaned in, his voice dropping to a whisper. "I'm not sure I should share this with you, Wangji. It's... complicated."
Wangji's eyes locked onto Wuxian's, his expression open and non-judgmental. "I'm here to listen, Wuxian. If you trust me, I'll do my best to help."
Wuxian gave Wangji a warm smile, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I'll share it when I feel like I need suggestions or help, Wangji. For now, let's just enjoy the ride."
Wangji nodded understandingly, his gaze drifting back to the window. "Of course, Wuxian. I'm here for you when you're ready."
As they sat in comfortable silence, Wangji couldn't help but steal glances at Wuxian, who seemed lost in thought. The scenery outside was breathtaking, with rolling hills and lush green forests passing by in a blur.
Wangji turned back to Wuxian, his curiosity getting the better of him. "Hey, Wuxian? Can I ask you something?"
Wuxian looked up, his eyes focusing on Wangji. "What is it?"
