COLET’S POV

After our brunch, I focused on logging in this month's bookings on our system to update the availability on our website. Aiah joined me in the hostel’s living area, though she's supposed to be exploring the island on her first solo travel experience. I'm not sure why she's choosing to chill here beside me and read a book instead.

Every night, the island hosts an event or party for everyone. Different places take turns hosting, and all the hostels and hotels make announcements or have boards at their front desks so everyone knows where to go.

I leaned on the bench where we were both sitting, trying to think about the concept for the weekend events here at the hostel and the two-day event for the entire island that will be held at our place as well.

Nagulat ako ng naramdaman kong sumandal si Aiah sa balikat ko. I felt my body stiffened. Nahulog ng bahagya ang libro na hawak niya. I glanced over to check on her, ayun tulog nga siya.

Tinititigan ko ang detalye ng kanya mukha. Starting from her eyebrows, moving to her eyelashes, nose, and finally her lips... then I quickly looked away. My heart is beating so fast.

Her head started to slip from my shoulder, so I gently held her right cheek to keep it from falling. She stirred slightly, murmuring something incomprehensible. I couldn’t help but smile. I just let her sleep, while I’m enjoying this peaceful moment.

I didn't move a single muscle the whole time she was sleeping, which is probably why I ended up falling asleep too. I woke up when I felt Aiah gently move her head away from my shoulder. I quickly removed my hand from her face.

She yawned and said, "Nakatulog pala ako." She rubbed her eyes, trying to wake herself up even more. I tried to move my right arm and did a little stretching. My shoulders were stiff.

I checked my phone to see what time it was, and it was already 4 in the afternoon

I checked my phone to see what time it was, and it was already 4 in the afternoon. I stood up and asked her, "Coffee?"

I didn't wait for her to respond. I headed to the bar area, just a few steps away from where we were sitting, and put on my apron, ready to make coffee for two.
