EPILOGUE

COLET'S POV [11 months later]

I woke up to the sound of the waves and the chirping of the birds. I closed my eyes once again and stretched my body. Then my hands wondered to the other side of the bed just to check on Aiah, just like I do every single day.

My hand roam until the edge of the bed, but I can’t feel her. The space next to me is empty. I turned to her side of the bed to confirm, but she wasn't there. Nagising ako sa ulirat ko, and I immediately went into flight mode.

"Hon?" I headed to the bathroom to check on her, baka umihi lang, but then again, she's not there.

"Hon? Where are you?" I called out to her. But no one's answering.

I went out to our veranda, she's not there either. I started to worry, saan kaya yun?
This is the very first time I woke up na wala na siya sa tabi ko. She never gets out of the room, na hindi ako kasama. At sanay ako na I would be the first one to wake up among the two of us.

I went out of the room, and I saw everyone putting a white cloth cover on the chairs and tables.

My eyebrows furrowed. "Hon?" I called out once again, but there's no sign of Aiah around the area.

My feet stopped walking when everything went dark. A blindfold was placed on my eyes. The next thing I knew, someone was leading the way somewhere. "Hon? Is it you?" I asked.

"Ssshhh." She tried to hush me, "Just walk and follow my lead,"  she said. My worries eased the moment I heard her voice. This girl always makes me go crazy.

"Okay, stand here first." I felt a chair bump against the back of my knees. "Oops, sorry." She apologizes. I chuckled, she is still very clumsy.

"Keep your eyes shut lang ha. I'll remove the blindfold now." She untied it, and she wrapped her arms around my shoulder. She's behind the chair I'm sitting on.

I can feel her breath on my neck. "Okay, open your eyes," she said in an excited tone.
