AIAH'S POV

Last night was enchanting. The fireflies were so beautiful that they brought tears to my eyes.

There are countless things in the world I've taken for granted because I was sheltered in a bubble my parents created for me.

These are the things that truly matter. I'm incredibly grateful that Colet helped me experience moments like this, reminding me what it feels like to truly live.

After watching the fireflies, we went to Gwenny's place for dinner. She introduced me to her partner, Sheena, who had just returned from Isabela. Sheena was incredibly bubbly and funny, radiating a lively energy that I loved. We spent the night laughing together.

Today is Saturday, and I woke up quite early because the hostel organizes its own island hopping exclusively for guests every week. I got ready as soon as I woke up.

I spent my peaceful morning by the pool, sipping a cup of coffee and reading the final chapters of "Midnight Library" by Matt Haig.

When it was almost 8AM, everyone gathered in the hostel's living area. We were waiting for the van to pick us up and take us to the port where we would board the pumpboat.

Christine, one of the staff of the hostel, called us up. I could see her room from the hostel’s living area, but there were still no signs of her.

I was the last one to go inside the van.

Sagot niya. Ang aga niya naman umalis.

I guess she was handling some transaction with the pumpboats. Anyway, most of us took a nap on our way to the port since it was still very early.

When we finally arrived at the port, we lined up to board the pumpboat. I scanned the area, but there were still no signs of Colet.

When we were all set on the pumpboat, they pulled up the anchor, so I guess we're leaving already. Colet still hadn't shown up. I suppose she's not joining us after all.
