COLET’S POV

As we arrived at the hostel, I took off my helmet and noticed Aiah having trouble removing hers while pouting. I couldn't help but smile, she looked so adorable, like a little lost puppy.

I gently moved her hands away and unbuckled the helmet myself. Once I had it off her head, I couldn't resist but to mess up her hair playfully. She's just too cute.

Aiah fixed her hair while glaring at me, clearly preparing to retaliate. She yelled, "Ikaw talaga!" I took a step back, placed the helmet on one of the scooter's side mirrors, and then ran towards the hostel with Aiah chasing after me.

When Aiah finally caught up to me, she started tickling me. "Got you," she said, still giggling.

I couldn't help but laugh, "Awat na," I cried out between laughs. She was tickling my waist, which is my greatest weakness. She kept on tickling me until we reached the hostel’s living area.

Suddenly, I heard a familiar voice that made my body freeze. A voice I hadn't heard in a while. "Finally, andito ka na."

Aiah stopped tickling me as soon as she heard that voice. I, on the other hand, was still in shock. Why is she here? In my hostel?

I looked her in the eye. She was already tearing up, but I felt nothing. She was like a distant memory I never cared to revisit.

I walked towards my room, questioning why she would appear all of a sudden.

If America is really that great, why would she come back here? Why would she bother to show her face to me now, just as I'm slowly finding my light and starting to open up to the world again?

I’m not angry. I’m just scared of the possibility of relapsing and having to go through the same pain all over again, like when she left me.

I could hear her footsteps, she was following me. I turned back to face her, and she stopped in her tracks, looking shocked. "Why are you here?" I asked in a stern voice.

From the corner of my eye, I saw Aiah still standing in the same spot, watching the scene unfold

From the corner of my eye, I saw Aiah still standing in the same spot, watching the scene unfold.

Jho closed her eyes, and tears fell before she could even answer my question. She gently held my hand, but I pulled it away immediately.
