Will? Will! WILL!
Will could hear people screaming out his name as he felt himself laying in the hospital bed of the medic room. His friends were looming over him, looking horrified and concern.
For a moment, he couldn't understand how he ended up like this until it slowly returned into his mind. He had been practicing his powers, quietly in the corner of the training room, when he felt the hairs on the back of his neck raise up. He was confused as to why he was feeling like this. Then he slowly turned around in his chair. He could see blue flakes floating through the air like in the Upside Down.
He set his drawing down onto the table along with his pencils before slowly moving towards the doors. Will couldn't explain this pull that overcame him as it made him move closer to the doors. He lifted his hands in front of him and gently pushed the door open.
His eyes widened.
He could see the entire hallway was now engulfed in blue vines and more flakes floating through the air. A roar of thunder echoed through the corridor as flashes of red light beamed through the windows in the hall. Will walked over to one as he peered through it. A couple of miles away, he could make out a heavy thunderstorm brewing in the distance; red lightning lit the entire sky. His heart raced within his chest while cold sweat dripped down his brow when it emerged from the clouds. A hideous beast with long legs that loomed over the entire forest ahead of him, growled into the sky... calling out to him like it was beckoning for him to come closer.
Before he could grasp the horror that was happening, he found himself falling backwards as the world seemed to be swallowed into blackness.
Now he had woken up here in the medic with wires all latched onto him measuring his heart and brain.
"Will?"
His focus turned onto Jonathan, who stood the closest to him with his hand brushing Will's hair out of his eyes.
"Will are you alright?" Jonathan asked him, looking almost as pale as a ghost.
"I'm fine." Will mumbled despite part of him feeling like he had been through the ringer.
"Will, what were you doing out in the hall?" Mike asked him. Before Will could say anything, the door opened as the parents and Dr. Owen came flooding in.
"Will!" Joyce called out as she rushed over to the bedside, "What happened? Is everything alright?"
"It was the most strangest thing," Will mumbled, "I-- I was in my corner... doing my test... when suddenly the hairs on the back of my neck stood up. I turned around... and there were this blue flakes like in the Upside Down... I followed them to the hallway..."
"Then what happened?" Dr. Owen asked.
"The whole hallway was covered in those awful vines. I-- I was back in that horrible place. Then I walk over to the window... and there was a monster in the distance.... it was calling for me." Will whimpered as his eyes were drenched in tears. Jonathan grasped Will's hands and gently patted the back of it.
"What the hell just happened?" Joyce asked Dr. Owens after all the parents and him walked into the hallway to have a private conversation about what happened to Will.
"I believe he has suffered a PTSD Episode. It is very common whenever the day when the trauma had occur comes around that this happens." Dr. Owens explained.
"But Dr. Owen, how come none of the other children seem to be suffering from those as well?" Karen asked while pointing back at the medic's door where the children were still inside comforting Will.
"People have different triggers for their PTSD. Some it is certain smells that tie back to the memories, others sounds... sometimes it touch or being in crowds or even seeing specific items that remind them of the event... and a lot of times, it's a mixture of these." Dr. Owens explained, "We are still trying to understand it ourselves."
"Dr. Owen, couldn't this be something else?" Claudia asked.
"What do you mean?" he asked.
"Perhaps... it has to do with the Upside Down. Perhaps there is a leak or another gate open--"
"Miss Henderson, I assure you if there was still one gate open we will notify you all." Dr. Owens assured them, "I think we should be focus more on the kids. Especially with Billy... and now Will."
"What should we do?" Joyce asked him.
"I suggest you keep an eye on Will and try to make him and the others feel like everything is okay. And I must warn you, he might get worse before he could get better." Dr. Owens advised them.
"Worst!? What do you mean worst?" Joyce asked. She couldn't believe Dr. Owens would actually insist Will was going to end up worst in order to get better. How the hell does that make any sense?
"It means he might have more episodes like this one. It is important we keep an eye on him and make sure he doesn't hurt himself. Okay?" Dr. Owens explained to them, "I think we'll let the kids out early. Just so Will can relax and maybe start planning on a session with Beth."
Before another word could be exchanged between them, Dr. Owens headed down the hall, leaving them all to their thoughts.
