CHARLIE'S POVI walk down the staircase and meet Mack in the living room. "Hey sis. Are you going to the game tonight?" I ask because I'm not sure if she's still going since I'm not playing.
At school, today was so hectic. It normally is for a Friday, but with the Halloween party tonight and the game too, everyone was extra amped. It really sucks me and Ollie still have the one game suspension and we can't play, but serves us right for acting stupidly on Monday.
"Oh yeah. I figured I could go with you if that's alright." She replied.
"That's fine with me. I'm taking Ollie with me too."
"Mmmm, okay. Ollie is so hot so that's just fine." She says with an animated expression.
"TMI sis. I didn't need to know what you think."
"Don't act like you haven't noticed." She said. Mhm I sure have. I know exactly what she's talking about.
"Okay well whatever. Coach was still pissed at us and had us doing bag skates at the last few practices for at least 30 minutes." It was actually death. Like I died and I will not get into a fight again. Bag skates are the death of me.
"Oh Jesus. Yall deserved that after the game in Rivermonte. That was a shit show." She said.
"Language. And yes it was. Let's completely erase that game from our minds." Except for the part where Ollie kissed me. We can remember that cause it's probably the only kiss I'll be getting for a long time.
"Hey and also that Veronica girl came by the house earlier while you were out and gifted us with 'apology donuts' or something. What's she apologizing for?" Mack asks.
I've been ignoring Ronny in the halls for the entire week following Brodie's party. She and her friends still ate with us at lunch and shit but we didn't converse and I didn't look at her. "It's nothing." I say.
"Mhm. Sure. Well, they're really good if you want to try them." She suggests. I'm not sure if I wanna eat anything made by Ronny.
"Just throw 'em out." I say.
"Why? It's perfectly good pastry. I'm eating it and if you don't want any, it's more for me." She says.
"Okay whatever. I'm gonna go upstairs and get changed. Coach still expects us to show up and wear suits to the game."
"Alright. And when are we leaving?" She asks.
"I don't know like 7:30?" That's probably the best time to leave since I have to get Ollie.
I head upstairs and change into the best suit I own. I have to sit next Ollie for the next two or three hours so I'm gonna look my best.
I go into my bathroom and look at myself in the mirror. I mess with the hair on top of my head and pat the slighty grown out hair on the back. My hairs normally pretty unruly and it's fine with me, but I wanna look good for him.
Ever since our talk on Tuesday, we haven't brought up the kiss or how Ollie acted at the bar. He's still trying to convince me he's straight and I'll let him try. We haven't really touched or anything since then. We've just drifted back to how we were before I knew how he felt about me. And if he truly believes it was a mistake, I'll give up.
