Thud thud thud…

“This is too risky… We might get caught.”

“Trust me, no one will stumble upon us.”

Where am I? Who are these people?

In the dimly lit classroom, I could barely make out the silhouettes of a man and a woman. Their hushed tones were almost inaudible unless I strained my ears.

“I… Maybe this wasn’t the right choice,” the woman’s voice trembled. She sounded worried, weary, as if terrified of being caught. Her voice… so familiar.

“It’s okay. As long as we have each other, we’ll be fine,” the man’s voice was deep and rich, trying to be reassuring. I’d heard it before, somewhere.

Tap tap tap.

The sound of footsteps echoed down the hallway, sending shivers down my spine. A figure in a black hoodie approached, their face concealed by a mask. I squinted, trying to make out their features, but everything was blurry.

As they neared the classroom, their steps became softer, almost feather-like. They stopped at the entrance, hiding behind the door, a camera in hand. The atmosphere turned icy.

When I finally took a look around where I was standing , I realized that I was in our school hallway . Except there was an unfamiliar chill to it , the hallways were shrouded in shadows , the air was cold , the only light source there was the flickering lights that were on the ceiling in the hallway.

The person blended with the darkness and took a peek into the classroom before  snapping a few pictures in the classroom of the 2 oblivious people inside .

I tried to walk forward , to ask the person what they were doing , to see who the two familiar people in the classroom were . I reached out my arm to tap the person on the shoulder when…

"Gasp"

I shot up from my bed , and my body was frozen and drenched with cold sweat . my eyes frantically darted around the room , scanning the shadows and objects surrounding me. Holding my breath anxiously , when I finally realized that I was in my dorm .

I could still feel my body quivering like a leaf , my hands were trembling so much . I touched my body to ensure that this wasn't a dream . What was that ? It felt like I was in a different dimension just now . Maybe it was a nightmare , it was as if I had been transported to another world. The cold air and the eerie stillness were too vivid to be just a dream.

I smacked myself on the cheek to snap out of the eerie thought . I didn't have time to worry about such unimportant things .Glancing at the clock beside me , I groaned when I saw that it was only 4 am. in the morning. It meant that there was still a lot of time before I needed to get out of bed for class.

I looked at the bed opposite of mine to see a sleeping , peaceful Tiffany lying on it . I reassured myself that I was being paranoid about my dream and that they meant nothing , as sleep threatened to take over again. I decided to pull the covers till my chin before drifting back to sleep .

Ring Ring Ring

The alarm clock next to me rang . The apple ringtone is honestly so annoying .I opened my eyes , still groggy from sleep  before forcing myself out of bed to turn the annoying sound off . I rubbed my eyes before burying my face back into a pillow . Why can't school start slightly later ? I went to the bathroom to get myself refreshed and ready for the day .
