I love you all so much and I hope you know that
_______________________________________________________________________Miles' POV
"I can heal you." I told Aliyah.
I placed my hand over the affected spot and it healed immediately.
"Way to get used to your powers." Aliyah beamed.
"That was amazing." Bianca said, putting away the wet clothe.
"I don't think I'm still that good though." I said.
"Yeah. You'll need a lot more practice." Aliyah said.
Later that day, Seth and I went out for run.
We were running was so fast in the thick forest and something flashed past us.
I mind linked Seth asking him if he saw that too and he said he did.
We were at alert, now looking for whatever we saw.
The creature was too fast for me comprehend what it was. We kept searching for some minutes until we came upon an huge bear.
It was feasting on a prey it probably just caught and was completely oblivious of our presence.
I had seen all sort of wild animals in this forest but this was the first time I've seen a bear and a giant one at that.
'Do you think we'll be able to take it down?' Seth mind linked me.
'It's worth the try.' I replied and got set on my fighting stance.
'Let's attack on three....'
'Two.....'
'One!' We both jumped on the wild animal who immediately started struggling.
We scratched it, tore out its flesh, injuring it on its weakest spots and soon the ferocious animal laid on the floor dead, covered in its own pool of blood.
We both changed back to our human form, putting on our shorts which we dropped earlier.
We carried the animal back to the pack house together.
"Wow, looks like we're gonna have a feast!" Aliyah exclaimed when she saw the animal.
"I can't believe you both killed this." Mila said.
"It looks scrumptious though." Sara said.
"We should cut out some for the people." I said.
"You're not only a powerful leader but generous too!" Aliyah said and I smiled.
"Of course he his." Bianca interjected and linked our arms.
I smiled.
The bear was cut and distributed so everyone could have a share in the pack. It was big enough to go round for everyone.
The only time we got to share meat as a pack, was during the annual pack hunting, when we'll go into the forests in groups.
Those were very fun times and the everyone in the pack bonded more.
I was finalizing some documents, ready to round up for the day when I heard a knock on my door. I already knew it was Aliyah by her scent.
"Come in."
"Alpha." She sat opposite me as usual.
"I just received some information from my witch sisters." She said and my interest piqued.
"Your siblings?" I asked.
"The females who work closely for the Queen mother are called witch sisters." She explained and I nodded.
"What's it about?" I asked.
"The dark queen is waiting patiently for your son to be born. We must create a protective gear around your mate while she's still pregnant and once she's about to deliver, I'll create a spell to block out the black witches from entering." She said.
"How do you know it's a son? And what protective gear?" I asked.
"Witches are able to tell the gender of a baby even before it's been born. It's part of our abilities. Once you master yours, you'll be able to tell." She said. "The protective gear is like a shield to also block out any spells the black witches might cast to harm the baby in the womb."
"Abilities, divine powers. What's the difference really?" I asked confused.
"Every witch is born with abilities. We possess certain abilities like telling the gender before it's born, seeing visions, casting spells, creating potions and so many others you'll get to know later in the future. But every witch also has a power, just like yours is healing and mine is revival. The Queen mother has the power to turn back time."
"Wow. So basically, our abilities are what we have in common but we also have divine powers which is peculiar to us all." I concluded.
"Exactly."
"It means I can make potions and cast spells, cool." I grinned.
"You must note, that with every great thing comes a repercussion. That's why we mustn't misuse our powers or abilities." She said. I nodded.
"We have to focus on creating the protective gear and work towards the spell."
"Can I be of help?" I asked.
"Of course. It's a great step to getting more acquainted with your power and abilities." She said.
"Let's create a work room first."
"A work room?"
"Yes. We need a conducive room where we can cast spells and make potions." She said.
I took her to the attic.
"What about this place?" I asked her and she looked around.
"Underground would have been nicer."
I then took her to the basement.
"And here?" I asked her and she smiled.
"Perfect! It's a good thing I brought my spell book." She said and all of a sudden a book appeared on her hand. She grinned at my shocked expression.
"Appearing and disappearing items. Yet another great ability of a witch." She said and sat on the floor, going through the giant white book on her hands.
"So that's how my mom did those tricks, and here I thought she was a great magician." I muttered and Aliyah looked up at me and burst out laughing.
"Melanie was a wonderful person. She just wanted to protect you and your twin from the evils of this world." Aliyah said.
"How do you know her? You're way younger than me." I said confused.
"She baby sat me. Witches have very powerful memories and we don't easily forget things."
"It's why I remember most things from my childhood that Mila doesn't." I sighed.
"Yeah it is." Aliyah replied, fixated on the spell book.
"Now that I think about it, I've been a witch my whole life." I said.
"Of course you have, you just only realised recently." Aliyah said and suddenly stood up.
"I found it!"
