Melsa's POVI hit my fist on the table angrily. I was having a meeting with my fellow black witches on how we were going to take down that stupid Alpha and his entire pack.
I looked at the huge scar on my leg that had now turned black and my blood boiled as I remembered how he tore out my flesh. It's a good thing I was a witch otherwise I would have died immediately.
"Dark queen, now that he is away, it would be the most perfect time to attack his son." Bisi said and I hummed.
"She's right dark queen. We should also destroy his entire pack now. After that, the other werewolf packs would know we rule and be terrified." I nodded.
"Get ready my beloveds, we leave at noon tomorrow." I smiled evilly. That stupid Alpha wouldn't know what hit him.
Miles' POV
I opened my eyes slowly and took in my environment. I was in the work room. I turned to my side and saw Aliyah's hazel eyes piercing into mine.
"Mom, he's awake!" She yelled and I winced at her loud voice.
I slowly sat up on the bed and Queen Melissa entered the room.
"Miles." She breathed and approached me.
"How are feeling?" She asked and I held my throbbing head.
"A slight headache, that's all." I muttered. "How long did I sleep for?" I asked looking between mother and daughter.
"Five hours." Queen Melissa said and I furrowed my brows.
"It didn't take more than thirty minutes the entire scene I saw." I said.
"What did you see? Did you finally get your answers?" Aliyah asked and I nodded.
"She was having identity crisis. I think the black witches placed a spell on her." I said, remembering vividly how my mother cried in my father's arms.
"Would they ever stop tapping into the forbidden magic!" Queen Melissa gritted.
"That's the forbidden magic?" I asked curiously and she nodded.
"It's part of it." She sighed and held my shoulder. "You've gotten what you came for. You should return to your pack now in case those good for nothing black witches have any plans up their sleeves." She tapped my shoulder and smiled.
I smiled back at her and stood up.
"Thank you so much queen Melissa. You have helped me a great deal. Oh, do you know anything about how witches wipe out memories?" I said.
"Did you see something like that?" She asked.
"My mom did that to Mila and I."
"Oh dear. It's part of our abilities." I nodded.
"I'll take my leave now." I said.
"Why don't you wait till tomorrow morning? It's almost dusk and it wouldn't be safe traveling at night." Queen Melissa said.
"Alright."
The next morning, we had breakfast and thereafter I got set to go. Aliyah was also coming back with me. She seemed to have fallen in love with my pack.
"Oh dear, are you abandoning your mother like this? I know I made you go to blue stone but I wasn't intending for you to live there forever!" Queen Melissa said dramatically as Aliyah was saying her goodbyes.
Her three sisters all had cute pouts on their faces as they didn't want their sister to leave so soon.
"Come on mom. You know that's not true. Alpha Miles still needs me around, at least till we're able to defeat the black witches." Aliyah said and hugged her mother. She gave each one of her sisters a kiss on their foreheads before entering the car. I wondered if their father was still around.
"Remember Alpha, when you're ready to take down the black witches, I'm just a call away." Queen Melissa smiled at me and I frowned.
"You don't use technology." She laughed like I had said a joke.
"No silly. You can just call me and I'd hear it right away." She said.
"Really?"
"Of course! It's part of our numerous abilities. Just like you werewolves have the mind link, we witches can also communicate in our heads." She said and I nodded. "Ali will teach you more about it." I nodded again and got into the car.
I was grateful to Queen Melissa for treating so well during my stay here. She definitely was a good woman. Maybe in my next life, I'd live as a white witch and not an Alpha.
"What are you thinking about?" Aliyah snapped me out of my thoughts and I shook my head.
"Nothing much. What about your dad? You never mentioned about him." I said looking at the mud houses on the way as I drove.
"He ran away." Aliyah said indifferently and I raised a brow.
"Oh."
"He's probably with Melsa now." She clenched her jaw.
"The dark queen?" I asked surprised.
"Yes. He betrayed my mother and left us when my sisters were born. He told my mother that he never loved her that he loves Melsa!" She hit the headboard and I lay back on my seat. It was actually the first time I'd seen her angry.
"I'm so sorry about that." I said.
"You don't need to be sorry. Just defeat Melsa and that would be the greatest revenge on my Dad." She grinned.
She didn't seem affected by her father abandoning them but then again why would she? The man definitely didn't deserve her love.
"He's a white witch?"
"He's black now. Once you join the black witches, you become a black witch." She stared at me and I nodded.
"Your kingdom is nice by the way. Really don't know why you insist on following me." I said.
"You already know the answer." She said and turned her gaze to the window. I tensed and gripped the steering wheel harder. Was she talking about her feelings for me?
I decided to address that now.
"Listen Ali, you're a very good friend to me and I'll always be grateful for all your help but you know very well that I can't reciprocate your feelings." I said looking at her carefully.
"Still, I want to hope." She mumbled. I wouldn't have heard her if I didn't have super wolf hearing.
"You would find a much better man than me, trust me." I told her and she sighed.
For sometime we didn't say anything to each other, I just drove quietly. The sun was high in the the sky, radiating it's beauty and elegance and alarming the whole world of its presence. It was already past noon and we'll arrive at my pack in a few hours.
I started humming a song and turned to Aliyah who had fallen asleep. I sighed as I remembered her words. I knew how she felt because I also once had feelings for someone who was out of my reach....
I broke out of my thoughts when Seth suddenly mind linked me.
"Alpha we're in trouble! The black witches have infiltrated our packlands!"
