I love you all and I hope you know that 🥰

Miles' POV

"You're seriously the only one who can't see that Aliyah is in love with you." My mate said and I frowned.

"That can't be. Aliyah cannot be in love with me."

"But she is and that's exactly why I'm not comfortable whenever she gets too close to you." Bianca huffed.

"Don't worry Bia. Nothing is going to happen between us because I don't feel the same towards her. You're the only one I care about." I pecked her lips.

"Let's go, our Bailey is waiting." She smiled and I led us out of the office and to the ball room where the party was ongoing.

Half the guest list already arrived including Axel and his gamma, Jason.

We went to greet Axel first.

"Hi brother." Bianca hugged him and he kissed her hair.

"Congratulations you two." Axel said smiling.

"Thanks." I smiled back at him. "Where's your Beta? And your parents?" I asked.

"Oh, my parents will be here shortly. I had to leave them behind and as for Austin, he wouldn't be coming. He recently found his mate and he's having issues with her." He replied nonchalantly.

"By the way. I haven't seen the cutie anywhere." He said again looking around.

"I left him with Alyssa and Mila. They're over there." Bianca said pointing over to Alyssa, Mila and Sara who were surrounded by some women. They were all gushing over the little baby.

"I'll go say hi to my nephew." Axel said and left with his gamma.

Bianca turned to me, a wide smile plastered on her face.

"It's so amazing how such a small baby can bring so much happiness." She said and I held her waist and kissed her forehead.

"It's all because of you, Bia."

I sighed for the uptenth time as Bianca breastfed our baby.

It was 2 in the morning and our son decided we shouldn't get any sleep tonight. He has been crying nonstop.

"Is this really normal? I'm worried. Should he be crying this much?" Bianca said as she continued breastfeeding him.

"Yes babe. It's completely normal for babies to cry at night. I watched Kian grow up. He was the same. Lily and Garrett were no different too." I assured her and she nodded.

"I guess. Now I can tell why Alyssa and my brother looked so tired every morning when Kita was still a baby. I guess our son is just hungry all the time." She smiled at the last part.

Aside from Bailey's cries keeping us up all night, I also couldn't sleep because anytime I closed my eyes, strange images of unknown people would flash across my mind.

All these was becoming overwhelming. I needed answers immediately.

"Bia?"

"Yes my love." She looked up from Bailey who had stopped sucking and was now sleeping.

"I'll have to visit the white witches realm at daybreak." I said softly in order not to wake the baby and she frowned.

"Why so soon? I thought you'd wait for some more time?" She said.

"Listen Bia. The sooner I find the answers I've been looking for, the better. I don't want the black witches to catch us unawares. I have to discover myself first if I'm really going up against them." I told her.

"Who said anything about going up against the black witches? We aren't planning a war right? You just want to protect our son and pack." She said, her voice breaking.

I felt a pang on my chest seeing my mate on the verge of tears.

"Listen Bia, we have to be prepared because anything can happen. Did I tell you the story of how my parents were killed? The black witches killed them Bia. That's why we have to mount our guards especially now that he's here." I held our baby's little hand.

She nodded and I gave her a kiss.

Just as planned, Aliyah and I got set to leave at daybreak.

I packed up a few things because I had no idea how long I'll be at the white witches realm but I planned not to stay there for more than a week. My pack still needed me and so did my family.

Aliyah had become quiet distant since the incident in my office yesterday and I also became awkward around her, knowing her true feelings for me.

Though I decided not to address it because I didn't want to embarrass her.

As I loaded the trunk with mine and Aliyah's bags, my mate came out with our son.

"Can I just go with you?" She said and I closed the trunk.

"No Bia. It isn't safe. Our son might be endangered and you just gave birth. I don't want you to fall sick." I said. Aliyah walked towards the car and stared at us for some seconds before entering the passenger's seat.

"Be safe my love." Her eyes became glossy. I gave her a long and passionate kiss then kissed our baby's forehead.

"Take good care of our little one Bia. I'll call you regularly. Make sure you eat and take your vitamins. Don't transform or go for a run because your body is still recuperating after childbirth. Don't skip your sleep unless it's Bailey crying, Don't -"

"Come on Miles. I'm here to take care of her and baby Bailey. Nothing will happen on my watch." Mila said, cutting me short. I pursed my lips and nodded gratefully.

"We're all here to care for her Miles, so go on your journey and return safely." Sara said.

"Make sure you find those answers." Greg said and I smiled.

"And the pack will be safe because your Beta will be right here, waiting till you return." Seth added.

"Don't forget me! I'll keep leading the pack warriors with virtue and courage and guard the pack!" Anthony said and everyone laughed.

I couldn't be more grateful to all of them and I knew for sure that my mate and baby would be safe even in my absence.

I squatted to Lily and Garrett's level and kissed both their foreheads.

"Take good care of baby Bailey for me alright?" I said and they both nodded happily.

I waved goodbye to everyone and got in the car. I watched my mate from the rearview mirror as I droved out.

She was holding back her tears and mine weren't far from falling.

Can I really do this? Can I be away from her for goddess knows how long?
