THE GARAGE WAS a hive of activity, mechanics and engineers buzzing around the sleek, powerful cars. Zak led me through the controlled chaos, introducing me to various team members so i could better familiarize myself with the environment.

I was met with kind smiles and welcoming waves much unlike one of the McLaren drivers. But I hadn't told Zak that, I didn't want him to know things were starting off so rocky before I could even try.

"You don't understand how happy I am that you're here," Zak beamed. "I know Lando and ever since that crash something's been off entirely about him."

Despite my growing dislike for the man, I couldn't deny the intrigue. I'd been around many high performance athletes (most of which actually sought out my assistance), but never a formula one driver.

"I'm glad to be here, Zak. Thanks for the opportunity, I can assure you I'll try my best to help him through it."

My first hard learned lesson in life, you can't save someone who doesn't want to be saved.

And Lando Norris had made it absolutely clear he didn't need or want saving. It would be a challenge to get along with him let alone get him to open up to me about his feelings.

There was a long journey ahead but I had a soft spot for challenges. Especially the kind that push you out of your comfort zone.

Zak smiled. "I've already informed him he'll be seeing you most days of the week on race weeks. He said he was fine with that."

I wanted to scoff. If only he knew how he really felt. "Perfect, I'll be seeing him soon then."

He gave me a pat on the back. "Welcome to the team, Piastri number two."

I smiled at that immediately scouting for the presence of my brother in the area. He'd been the one to tell Zak about me when he'd voiced his concerns about the crash's effects on Lando's performance yet I'd rarely been able to see him since I landed in Melbourne for the Australian Grand Prix.

"Hey sis." The moment I heard his voice I turned around with a squeal nearly ready to start jumping for joy at the sight of him.

"Osc!" I ran into his arms as he embraced me in a warm hug, the kind I'd missed on several occasions when in Monaco. I pulled away, patting his cheeks with a grin. "You look good."

"So do you, El. God I've missed your annoying little ass." He rubbed my head, disheveling my hair.

I swatted his hand away with a chuckle. "Wish I could say the same, but im afraid the feeling's not mutual."

He scoffed, a hand on his chest in fake offense. "Wow, and here I thought you loved your brother."

I gave him a playful shrug. "Thought wrong."

He nearly tackled me into the ground as he pulled me in for another tight hug, my head buried in his chest. "How's Monaco treating you?"

"Good," I replied into his McLaren shirt, the sound muffled and hardly audible. "Lots of beach, lots of partying."

He laughed, finally releasing me. "I'm not surprised, you'll have to invite me one of these days." I hadn't seen my brother in months, ever since he went into formula two and i turned to my studies, our paths had been completely split. I'd never thought they'd meet like this. "Have you met lando yet?"

I'd tried to control my expression, but my face had dropped before I could even try. "Yup."

"And?" He tried to read my face. "Not good huh?"
