Helen McCrory x Reader

Y/n's POV

When I agreed to join mum for dinner at her house with the kids I had originally thought that it would be her, my stepdad and siblings along with my four year old son so imagine my surprise when I saw not only my uncle Johnny but also Helen and Damian who looked ready to kill each other. Putting Johnny down I'm not sure why I'm surprised when he makes a beeline towards his namesake while I move over to greet mum. "I'm so getting you back for this mother." I whisper as I hug her and she nods with a laugh before I'm being pulled away from her into a tight hug from Helen who I can feel relax when I hug her back. Pulling away from her with a smile I kiss her cheek softly which makes her flush slightly but I shake it off as my imagination. "You look amazing Helen. It's been too long since we saw each other." I say making Damian glare at me before he comes over and kisses my cheek quickly making me smile politely at him. "Looking as dapper as always Damian."

"Yes well you never know who you're going to see out and about y/n." He says with a smirk making me hold back my wince before I straighten my back slightly while Helen smacks his chest. Excusing myself to go get a drink I take a deep breath and look over at my son who is listening intently to my uncle Johnny who's doing his Captain Jack Sparrow impression making me chuckle slightly only to jump when a warm hand rests on my bare arm. "Please don't say anything to Helen about what you saw at the hotel and I won't tell your mum that you were meeting up with your ex."

"One, I had no plans on telling Helen that her husband is a cheating scumbag because that's your job not mine. Two, mum already knows that I was meeting my ex because I had to ask her to watch Johnny for me. And three, not that I need to explain myself to you but I was meeting with him to get the signed custody agreement stating he could get supervised visitation whenever he was in town and that his new wife can be nowhere near Johnny." I tell him as I pull away from him with a glare making him gulp slightly as he goes to say something but I quickly cut him off. "I'd keep your mouth shut if I were you because I could quite easily go over there and tell that amazing woman what I saw that day. I'm sure that you don't want that now do you? Because we both know that it would break her heart and destroy a family unit which I don't want to do. I completely believe that she should find out but I refuse to be the one to break her heart Damian, that should be you considering it was you that cheated on her." I say quietly before walking away from him as I school my features making both mum and Helen look at me confused.

"Everything okay y/n?" Mum asks and I nod as I take a sip of my wine making her raise an eyebrow at me. "Really? Because you've been rather distant since you met your ex to talk about supervised visits."

"I'm fine honestly, there's just a lot going on at the moment with Johnny and work and I... I saw something that I really wish I hadn't seen while I was at the hotel and have no idea what to do about it." I tell her as she looks at me confused while Helen rests a soft hand on my arm and I smile at her softly before taking a large drink of my wine. "Enough about me though, what's going on with you two?" I ask and Helen starts telling me about the latest season of Peaky Blinders without moving her hand off of my arm making me bite my tongue while mum sends me a knowing look. I've had a crush on Helen since I was sixteen which was long before her and mum even met and when they did that crush only got bigger over the years.

"Mummy! I want cuddles now!" Johnny says with a whine as he tugs on my leg and I pick the clingy boy up with a sigh, settling him against my hip making mum look at me with a raised eyebrow. Shaking my head at her I simply kiss the top of my baby's head as he cuddles into me while Helen returns to telling me what I've missed. Looking over at Tim when he calls that dinners ready I frown when mum takes Johnny and sits him next to her while I find myself between Helen and Damian. Sitting eating dinner in reasonable silence I chuckle when Johnny starts babbling to mum about something he had done at nursery.
