Y/n's POV

Moving back to Wisteria Lane had been a huge decision and not one that I made easily but here I am, taking the keys to my old house back from my long time friend Edie with a moving truck behind me. "It's great to see you again y/n, the street hasn't been the same since you left." She says with a smile making me look around the street with a small smile making her nudge me slightly.

"It's good to be back honestly Edie, I've missed this place more than I can ever try to explain. I never wanted to leave in the first place but I... I had to." I tell her as I look at her again and she looks at me confused but I shake it off as I look around again. "So much has changed yet so much is still exactly the same as it was when I left."

"Why did you leave so suddenly? And what happened between you and that hunk of yours?" She asks and I sigh because I knew that this question would come but I thought that it would take longer than it actually did. Shaking my head as I motion for her to come inside as I head into the house, this isn't a conversation I'm having outside.

"I had to leave Edie. It wasn't safe for me to stay here. Not with there being as many kids around as there are." I tell her and she raises an eyebrow at me making me sigh. "That 'hunk' as you called him was abusive and was escalating in his behaviour. I left before anything could happen to danger anyone here."

"Wow! What happened after you left? Where is he now?" She asks and I chuckle bitterly at that making her offer me a soft smile.

"When he finally found me, he absolutely lost it and I ended up in the hospital with the police asking what happened. I ended up telling them everything and they arrested him the very same day. With me and a few others testifying against him in court he was sentenced to forty-five years in jail without the possibility of parole." I tell her honestly and she looks at me with wide eyes.

"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked." She says and I wave it off with a smile.

"It's fine, Edie, don't worry about it. You won't be the last person around here that I'll need to tell by the end of the day and we both know it." I tell her and she nods with a chuckle as she checks the time which prompts me to do the same with a groan. "I better get everything unpacked, Edie, but I was thinking of having everyone over at the weekend.  How about we catch up more then?" I suggest as we head back outside.

"Sounds good to me y/n. I'll see you then." She says as she walks back to hers and I quickly start to unload the truck, hoping to get it done as quickly as I can. Pausing briefly when my scars start pulling I rub my abdomen with a wince and jump when someone calls my name.

"Y/n? Wow, it really is you." Someone says from behind me and I'm quick to drop my hand as I turn to see Bree standing there with Lynette, Gabi, Susan and another redhead I hadn't seen before. "What brings you back after so long?" She asks with a very obviously fake smile making me clench my jaw slightly.

"It was time to come home, that's all Bree." I say and subtly try to look for escape routes as my anxiety starts to build. "How Ave you all been?" I ask politely as I turn back to my boxes and pick one of them up with a barely concealed groan of pain.

"Now you care? You haven't cared about us all this time!' Gabi exclaims and I sigh as I sit the box on the porch.

"Yeah well none of you tried to make sure that I was okay either! Not one of you called to make sure everything was okay when I left. So don't you dare start that shit with me!" I tell them before focusing on unpacking the trick until I can't contain my groan as I pull my scar too much. "Ow, fuck. Dammit, dammit, dammit." I muttervto myself as I grab my abdomen and the redhead rises to help me.

"I'll get the last few boxes while you get a seat." She says softly as she looks at me with almost knowing eyes before guiding me into the house with the others following us.
