I yawned and stretched as I walked into the kitchen. Although I was not a morning person, the sight of waffles and fresh fruit made my eyes light up.
"Rise and shine." Caleb smiled and stepped around the counter to kiss me.
"Morning, fiancé," I said, with a grin.
He laughed, taking my right hand in his and kissing my ring finger, which now bore a dazzling square diamond. When he proposed to me last night in a candle-lit restaurant, my immediate reaction was pure joy, manifesting itself in a flood of happy tears. Shortly after, I was taken with wonder and amazement, caused by the stunning ring on my finger. I was up half the night simply staring at it gleaming in the dark.
I took a seat at the counter and Caleb passed me a plate of waffles, topped with syrup and fruit, before taking a seat next to me with a plate of his own.
"Oh, and don't forget," I said. "I have that dinner with the cast of Love at First Fight tonight."
"Oh, right," he said. "I have to leave for work in a few, but how about we do lunch?"
I shook my head. "I have to get back to my place to start packing."
I was getting ready to move in with Caleb next month when my lease expires.
"Are you sure you don't need help packing?"
"I'm good, but thanks, babe."
"Of course," he said, walking over to sink and cleaning his plate. "I have to head out, but I'll see you tomorrow at noon?"
"Not if I see you first," I joked.
He grinned and walked over to kiss me. "Bye, Y/N."
"Bye!"

I know this chapter was boring, but the story's just getting started. The next few chapters will show a definite change of pace as Y/N meets Glen Powell...
