•In Seong was on his side, head rolled forward slightly. He wasn't aware of his surroundings at the moment, In Seong remembered the details of what happened to him. The blood was more than he imagined, and he remembered the world turning black within seconds of the nosebleed starting. In Seong laid on the ground, eyes closed, breathing evenly.
"I will say," In Seong's face scrunched up. "It took longer than I thought it would." In Seong squeezed his eyes before opening them slowly. The first thing In Seong saw was the darkness and when his eyes focused on the person in front of him, he was wearing the exact same thing as him. In Seong slowly lifted his head up to see who was speaking to him. "You held out a long time," In Seong stared up at the monster form of himself. The black eyes were haunting, it was different than In Seong seeing them on Hyun Soo. "I found your catalysis." The monster chuckled darkly as he knelt in front of In Seong.
In Seong stared at his face – was this what everyone saw? Their monster in their own body, mocking them, taunting them.
"I know the idea of me doesn't scare you." The monster continued, a wicked smirk on his face. "You've wanted this actually, for a while." In Seong kept his mouth shut, not that he could speak, it felt like there was something keeping him from speaking out against his monster. "The fact you held out for an entire year, that's impressive." In Seong stared at the monster with wide eyes. "You proved that you're more than me, however," His smirk fell.
Now In Seong couldn't breathe. The monster grabbed him by the throat, pulling him up from the ground. In Seong grabbed onto the monster's wrist, his legs kicked and thrashed back and forth. The monster stared at In Seong, those black eyes felt like they were piercing into his skull. "But you aren't that strong, In Seong. The monster in your head was always meant to eat you alive."
In Seong gasped awake, hands going to his throat, almost like they were going to rip off the hand of the monster. In Seong looked down at himself, seeing the blood that coated the front of his shirt and hoodie. As his hands lowered, he saw the dried blood coating the palms of his hands.
The monster didn't scare In Seong. In Seong couldn't explain it – it was almost welcoming that he was turning into a monster. He knew he should be scared because most people didn't make it to the fifteenth day. In Seong didn't know if he'd make it either.
In Seong took several deep breaths as he looked at his hands and arms. He noticed that the scars across his arms had faded more than usual. "Oh." In Seong felt his jaw tremble. "It's happening faster than I thought it would..." He wasn't expecting his body to heal past scars and wounds.
"Who says you'll make it to the fifteenth day?"
In Seong shook his head quickly, trying to dislodge the voice. His eyes clamped shut, hearing the voices of his parents – the monster was trying to break him. Hearing his parents' voices was a low blow from the monster, but he knew what triggered In Seong's wishes to die. In Seong placed his wrists against his temples, bowing his head. He was trying to think of something else, anything else.
