Myeong pulled Jin Hee back, letting Seok Chan move in front of them. Myeong lowered his voice, "Can you try and help them?"

Jin Hee closed her eyes, trying to focus on bringing out her monster. Jin Hee struggled to control the monster when it did come forward, but in the same breath, Jin Hee forced herself to keep it hidden. She wasn't that person – she shouldn't have become an experimental monster. Surviving the fifteen days of hell was hard enough, Jin Hee just never wanted to allow the monster to come out.

Myeong was asking to help save the soldiers.

Jin Hee was trying. She opened her eyes, showing the black and veiny eyes for half a second. They disappeared just as fast as they appeared. Jin Hee shook her head, "I'm sorry, I can't." Jin Hee whispered.

Myeong pulled her into a hug. "It's okay, Jin Hee." Jin Hee wanted to help, but no matter what she did, the monster stayed hidden. Maybe it was a good thing, Jin Hee didn't truly know. The monster side of her did come out on occasion, only when she felt like it. She didn't come on command. Myeong and Jin Hee turned their attention to Mr. Kang. He was shouting Sergeant Kim's name.

Jin Hee ran forward, stopping short upon seeing Ja Young standing there. Just like Myeong, she told Mr. Kang that he would die. Seok Chan looked at Ja Young. "Why did you do it?" Ja Young stared at Seok Chan. "Why? Why the hell did you do it?!" Seok Chan shouted in her face. Ja Young didn't even flinch.

Seok Chan slowly made his way down to where Yeong Hu was. Myeong looked down into the pit, seeing the monsters attacking the two men. "Shit." Myeong looked around for something. Jin Hee stepped forward, looking down at Sergeant Kim. She felt terrible about all of this – she didn't deserve to see In Seong again.

Myeong broke part of a wooden beam in half, snapping it across his knee. He removed his shirt, leaving the white tank top on. Myeong ripped the fabric into pieces, wrapping it around the beam. He tightened the fabric around the beam before reaching into his pocket for the lighter he found during his travels. He flicked it several times. "Come on, come on, you fucker!" He growled at the lighter when it refused to light.

Suddenly, the fabric was up in flames. Myeong looked at Jin Hee – she had placed both hands onto the fabric. Her eyes were black, veins growing down to her cheeks. It looked like Jin Hee finally allowed her monster to come through. She looked at Myeong, "Give me the other." Jin Hee was struggling to stay in control as the monster fought her. "Hurry!"

Myeong tossed her the beam. She caught the top part, setting the fabric aflame. Jin Hee's monster seemed to be protective over the people that In Seong knew. Jin Hee's hands burned as she removed it from the flames, but it healed right up as she held onto the bottom of the beam. Controlling the monster she had been forced to become was difficult, but right now, she couldn't see Sergeant Kim and Mr. Kang die. If it was In Seong in her shoes, he'd run down there without a weapon, or just one of his pocketknives and fight his way through.
