Chapter 10: The Love I Have

Third's Pov

The aglow of the moon blended with the soft glow of lanterns as Raiju walked across the compound heading back towards his wing. Stopping shortly on one of the many bridges, Raiju gave out a tired sigh, closing his eyes as he tilted his head towards the heavens as the wind circled around his unmoving form, a light chill carried over any of his exposed skin as Raiju let his mind come to a blank.

Huffing out a breath, Raiju opened his golden eyes that seemed to glow in the moonlight as the last of his anger seeped from his aura, knowing Sesshomaru would be asleep by now. Yes...Raiju did not wish to wake Sesshomaru with his lingering anger especially with the day already so close to ending, knowing something like today will never happen again.

A dangerous smirk, full of sharp canines and the promise of death stretched across Raiju's face as his thoughts recounted the actions he took after leaving his beloved earlier that day. A spiteful chuckle left Raiju's soft lips as he could still hear the two elders beg for his forgiveness as they kneeled, graveling at his feet as the other elders watched in barely concealed fear.

As much as Raiju wished to kill them, he knew doing so would be too easy of a punishment as death was effortless and simple for Raiju. Only a flick of the wrist would end their lives as such a death wouldn't satisfy his dragon in the least if they actually saw even a hair of Sesshomaru when they had barged into his office.

The only reason their lives were spared was by the time Raiju entered the meeting room, his raging aura had calmed from a furious storm to a mere mild one. The elder dragons sent their prayers to Kami as Raiju walked to the meeting room, Raiju's aura choking them once the wooden doors opened... If the guards outside those doors shivered the entire time even as those doors closed, a powerful barrier erupted encasing Raiju's aura within only the room...well nothing was done about the noise coming from said room.

Yes...No one shall dare overstep, that is if they value their pitiful lives.

Sesshomaru's POV

Letting out a soft breath as the sleepy haze begins to fade away, as my senses become clear. Moving to sit up, hardly able to move an inch before I was tugged back down. Raiju, as I noticed, was still asleep despite the sun making its way into our room, simply burying his face into the back of my neck. His arms I didn't realize was once loosely around me, now caged me to my dragon. Huffing out a breath, I candidly settled back down as this has been happening for the past 2 weeks. After the incident as the servants have called it, I've been waking up to Raiju clinging to me, not allowing me to leave his grasp till he was conscious enough to listen to me.

Though another reason I believe has caused Raiju to become so...clingy is due to my leaving for the western lands for possibly 2 weeks to a month due to my own duties as Lord.

'I'm sure by this point my office will have its own pile of paperwork. The arrangements for the mating ritual and the combining of our lands, along with writing invitation letters is going to be...bothersome.'

I mused with a deep breath as I soak in Raiju's warmth knowing I'm going to miss it when I leave later today...yes, I'm going to indulge this morning as long as possible. A soft smile claimed my lips as I closed my eyes once more, letting Raiju's rumbling vibrate down my spine pulling me back to sleep.

*Time Skip*

Placing the ink brush down, scanning the context of the letter I'm planning on sending to my mother before my departure. Letting my head tilt back, taking a deep breath in slowly letting it out as my head drops to my chest. A chuckle from the side pulled my attention from the finished letter before my eyes could gaze among it to find unreasonable errors and tear it up like the others.
