Hiccup and I both stared at her in complete shock. Naturally any person would straight away attack their sworn enemy, but seeming as though Hiccup wasn't making a move, I didn't either, he had brains that kid.

"You're an Outcast? You do realise if Stoik finds out then he will try to k-"

"Most likely lock you up, untl he decides what to do with you..." Hiccup interupted, giving me a fierce look that I had hardly seen before. "Can I uh, talk to you for a sec Flace?" Before letting me answer, he yanked me to my feet, which hurt a lot, and pulled me into the corner.

"What?" I demanded, a little annoyed.

"Okay, as...crazy as it sounds, she might not actually be a danger to us. And for the time being, I would very much like for you to not freak her out or anything, because in case you've forgetton, we know nothing about her."

"Okay, I get it. No scary truth stuff. Alright. But what if she isn't harmless? And, if we let her stay, how are we gonna keep a secret like this from Stoik? Hiccup if he finds out somho-"

"I know, I know..." He scrated his head thoughtfully. "Just as long as no one else finds out that she's an Outcast."

"Outcast? Hiccup...what is going on?" Came a voice from behind us.

He exhaled, sounding annoyed and frustrated. "Oh great, Astrid, I was going to tell you."

"Were you?" I whispered to him.

"Definitely not." He answered back while she was busy eyeing the girl on the bed, who had fallen asleep again from exhastion. "You're seriously gonna trust her are you?" Hiccup took a step toward Astrid, which was immediately responded to with a step back from her.

"Look Astrid, I know right now you're feeling, betrayed, but I swear she's not like Heather. Even if we don't even know yet. But if she is you can tell my Dad right away. Okay? There's no need to tell him...now. Just give me a while to assess the situation here." He explained.

She gave it a fair thought, then agreed and sat down in the chair, arms crossed and eyes not moving from the girl. I don't blame her, last time an Outsider was trusted by Hiccup, poor Astrid ended up looking like the bad guy bcause she was the only one who knew what Heather was really like.

"Well do you even know her name?" She huffed as she sat down. I picked the Outcast's bag up and emptied its contents onto the table. A couple of shells, a knife and a book tumbled out. Hiccup picked up the boom and flicked through its pages while I leaned over his shoulder.

"Perfect. It's a diary." He turned to the first page. "It says Property of Saige..." He trailed off, "Saige the Savage."

"Well, I think that's enough information for me to determine what to do." Astrid said, getting up and gripping the door handle, but freezing when we all heard the voice.

"Saige the Savage is the name my father gave me." I turned to look at the girl, not really sure what to say. We all stood staring at her for a couple of long seconds.

"Who's your father?" Someone asked.

She shuffled nervously, staring at her feet. "Alivin." She mumbled, then looked up. My jaw practically hit the floor. "But he tried to kill me." At this point, Astrid's firm grip had loosened to a feeble touch on the handle, and then her arm slipped off and hung by her side.

"You're Alvin the Treacherous' daughter?" She whispered. "And he tried to kill you?"

"My father wanted me dead because he thought I was strange, because I didn't act like a normal Outcast like me wanted me to be." She explained, her face in her hands.

"Why weren't you...normal?" Hiccup asked, gripping the book in his hands nervously.

She sat down and replied, "Because I liked dragons." Hiccup swallowed hard, and I felt a jolt of realisation. Hiccup was a chief's son, Saige was a chief's daughter, they had both had a secret and forbidden interest in dragons. "It was when I had to kill a dragon for the first time that he realised I was different. I just couldn't do it. And that was when he got so angry and..." she sniffed, holding back a sob, "I just ran, and didn't stop running. Not until I knew I would be safe. So I stole a boat and left Outcast Island, then I woke up here." When she stopped talking, Hiccup stepped forward and placed his hand on her shoulder.

"It's okay, I went through something similar, except without the whole murderous father thing." He said. She glanced up at him, giving him an uneasy look. "You can trust us." He said.

"All of us." Astrid added, stepping forward, smiling at her. "So what are we gonna do about those rags? You look about my size when I was younger, come with me." She said offering a hand to her. Saige stared for a few seconds, before slowly reaching up taking Astrid's hand.
