As the sun dipped low on the horizon, hiding behind the beautiful clouds, a scene of sorrow happened on the footpath.

An elderly aged man burdened by grief, sat with tears streaming down his cheeks. His trembling hands grasped at the fabric of his worn coat as he mourned the loss of something dear to him.

Around him, a small crowd had gathered, drawn by the sound of his sorrowful cries. Some approached tentatively, offering words of comfort and gentle pats on the shoulder, while others stood at a distance, murmuring amongst themselves in hushed tones.

Mahi: Auntie, what happened? Everyone in the neighbourhood seems so tensed.

Aunt Kamala: Oh, my dear , you haven't heard? A thief robbed Ramesh uncle.

Mahi's eyes widened in disbelief.

Mahi: A thief? Here? What did they take?

Aunt Kamala: Yes, dear. It was a terrible happening. The thief robbed poor Uncle Ramesh of his hard-earned savings. Ten thousand rupees, gone in an instant.Mahi gasped, her hand flying to her mouth in shock.

Mahi: Haww! That's awful! Uncle Ramesh works so hard to support his family. How could someone do such a thing?

Mahi stood before Aunt Kamala, her expression hold sympathy for uncle ramesh carefully as she heard the news of the theft. Yet, beneath the surface, a different emotion simmered, one that she hide carefully .

With a polite nod, Mahi turned away, her mind already racing with thoughts of her own.

As she walked back to her house, a sly smile crept across her lips, unnoticed by anyone.

Mahi: Well, well, well... today is my lucky day indeed.Reaching into her pocket, Mahi withdrew a pile of crumpled rupee notes, counting them with satisfaction.

Ten thousand rupees, the same amount stolen from Uncle Ramesh, securely in her grasp.

Mahi: Sorry, Uncle Ramesh, but it looks like I'll be putting this money to better use than you ever could.

With a mischievous grin, Mahi tucked the money in her pocket, her mind already buzzing with plans for the future.

Little did anyone know, behind her innocent face lay a cunning mind, ready to seize any opportunity that came her way.

As Mahi entered her modest home,

The room was small, surfaced with a dim light . In one corner stood a table, accompanied by two mismatched chairs. On the table lay Varun's books, their pages worn out from countless hours of study, as he sat hunched over them, his brow furrowed in concentration.

Mahi's smile softened at the sight of her brother, yet his words cut through her like a knife.

Varun looked up at her with disappointment look on his face , but though he gave her a faint smile.he knew that her sister again robbed someone. So, he said to mahi

Varun: Didi, again Iam requesting you, please don't do this. This is illegal. This is not good work, to do.

Mahi's heart sank as she heard the concern in her brother's voice. She sat down beside him.

Mahi: I know, Varun. But sometimes, life doesn't give us many choices. We have to do what we can do to survive.Varun shook his head,

Varun: But stealing is wrong, didi.

Mahi: I know, Varun. I know. But sometimes, things aren't as simple as they seem.

Mahi: Trust me, Varun. Today is our lucky day. With time I will make everything fine.

Mahi: Well leave it Get ready, Varun. Today, we're going to eat something outside in a big restaurant.

Varun: Okay, didi. If you say so.

Soon after some minutes Mahi ,smoothing out the wrinkles of her dress with care as she glanced at herself in the cracked mirror hanging on the wall. beside her, Varun doing his hair.

Mahi: Varun, come on. Hurry UP!  Varun nodded eagerly, a smile spreading across his face as he adjusted his shirt, his excitement palpable in the air.

Varun: I'm ready, didi. Let's go!

Mahi: Where should we go, Varun? Any special requests?

Varun's face lit up with excitement as he thought for a moment, his eyes sparkling with excitement.

Varun: Can we go to that new restaurant down the street? I heard they have the best biryani in town!Mahi chuckled at her brother's enthusiasm, ruffling his hair affectionately as they continued down the bustling street.

Mahi: Sounds perfect, Varun. Let's go make some memories. With this they head towards their journey .

After relishing their delicious meal at the restaurant, Mahi and Varun stepped out into the cool evening air, their satisfied smiles mirrored in each other's eyes. As they strolled along the corridor, Varun suddenly halted, a hint of urgency in his voice.

Varun: Didi, wait a moment. I need to use the washroom. I'll be right back.Mahi nodded,

Mahi: Sure , Varun. I'll wait for you at the gate.Varun hurried off towards the restroom. Mahi moves forward to go out when suddenly while getting down from stairs she slipped.
