A Dream Within A Nightmare.

Summary: In which, the sudden changes that he notices that happens when certain and specific situations are being applied. Especially when it concerned about YOU. A promise is now made.

The other days smoothly passed by, along with the book that Nightmare was reading would be changed since he finished it. Which meant that going to the library every now and then according to deal you just made with the librarian which wasn't a bad deal if you were being honest, if anything it's reasonable enough.

Although, as for Nightmare, he witnessed something new and oddly disturbing a little for him that day when both you and him began to return towards the Tree of Feelings where he had his ever first book from the Library which he was more than happy about it.

Upon reaching the destination, to your respective positions in guarding the tree, there were at least two monsters that was checking the fruits that was being presented on the branches. Nightmare disregarded it although he knew that the monsters shouldn't be doing that, it was just an instinct to him so he wasn't really sure. That's when he looked to his brother out of curiosity only to be frozen in his place.

His brother, who seemed to be lively not too long ago was staring unknowingly to the tree, but mostly to the monsters who was surrounding the tree. Before the purple skeleton could he even comment about your weird behavior, you only whispered to him to get behind your back.

Nightmare processed the words you were saying and albeit followed it as he hid himself behind you, keeping silent and trying to observe. To which you faced the scene in front of you, a faded barrier resonated around the tree that it almost pushed the two monsters away from the tree.

Nightmare was taken aback and clearly saw the barrier but he guessed that the monsters didn't as they had a puzzled expression that was mostly confused as to what happened. Sneakily, Nightmare took a quick glance to you to which it was visible that your pair of yellow eye lights was lightly vibrating with golden light before it disappeared.

You began to switch your expression almost immediately and called out the monsters that was snapped out from their daze,

"Hello there! Is there something wrong?" You slightly raised your voice which effectively heard by the said monsters and looked towards you. Having the same bright smile that the village monsters was familiar with although Nightmare felt as if there was a meaning behind it which he couldn't pinpoint what exactly.

The monsters responded before waving in dismissal that there wasn't anything wrong as they began to walk away, with visible confusion. You could stare at the monsters at the moment before smiling brightly as ever and waved a farewell towards them.

Nightmare only watched the whole interaction, not planning to insert himself during the said conversation or interaction, opting to letting you handle it. Since he had a feeling that he wasn't meant to comment anything about it while he was overwhelmed with conflict feelings towards himself.

While he was in his trail of thoughts, you called him saying, brother, that took his attention and was focused to you. You, however, continued and asked him if he was feeling alright and many more that Nightmare knew you were genuinely concerned with him.

But he responded and even shrugged it off that it was nothing but he didn't hide the fact that he was overwhelmed as you looked to him before smiling sweetly and grabbed his phalanges. Sending words of assurances and affirmations, hoping it'll lift the other's feeling which practically worked as you guided him towards the Tree of Feelings and sat on the ground. Both of you side by side, close with each other.
