Hours felt like minutes, and minutes felt like milliseconds every second I was with him. We were getting along nicely, as friends. Exchanging stories, but his were way more interesting. I didn't have a way of telling the time, but I had a feeling it had to be somewhere around 1am, when Ashley came barreling down the dance floor over to us, shitfaced. She was speaking nonsense. As much as I loved it here, I had to take her home.  Ashley had wrapped her arm around me, finding her balance. I noticed she was wearing my bag. I took that as a clear sign we had to leave.
"Listen, Gaege, it's been really nice, but I need to call an Uber home, who knows what dumb decisions this one could make." I mentioned Ashley. Gaege seemed understanding.
"Yeah I was thinking I should head home too, you know, if it's not weird I could take you home? So you don't have to pay for an Uber."
       He was so generous.
"It seems to me you go out of your way to try and save me money."
"It's not just that, I want to get to know you more, what do you say?" I thought for a minute to see if I trusted him, and I found some trust in him.
"Alright, I'll take you up on that offer," I agreed. He smiled warmly and led me out of the club, to the parking lot.
I helped Ashley into the backseat of his car, shutting the door, and walking around to the passenger side to sit beside him as he started up the engine. He handed me his phone with his gps pulled up.
"Could you put your address in there for me?" I typed in the buildings address and tried handing him back his phone.
"While you're at it, you wouldn't mind putting your number in there too, would you? I want to keep in touch this time." I couldn't help but smile, and abided his wishes, giving him my number, and handing him back his phone.
"I appreciate it," he thanked me.
"I was probably going to give it to you anyway," I said, truthfully.
"Yeah? Good to know." He smiled back at me. He put the car in reverse, backing out of the parking space.

I felt a sense of longing as soon as we reached the parking lot of my apartment building, for this meant goodbye.
"Is this the place?" He asked me.
"Yes, this is the place, thank you again."
      "No problem, my pleasure."
I felt his eyes on me as I got out of the car, and went to the back to get Ashley, who was half asleep. I pulled her out, closing both doors and walking around to the front of the car on the sidewalk. I saw Gaege wave goodbye at me, and with me free hand I returned the goodbye, turning around and heading to the front door. Gaege had waiting for me to go inside before pulling out of the driveway, and going wherever he was headed. Ashely still had my bag.
"Hey I need my keys," I asked her. She sluggishly reached into my bag and handed me my keys. I opened the door and headed up the stairs to my apartment. I put the key into the keyhole to my room at the top of the staircase and entered my home. I helped Ashley to the couch, setting her down carefully. I throw my keys onto the bar in my kitchen and shuffle through my cupboards to grab a glass of water for my friend. I pour the water and walk back over to her. Ashley's already falling asleep again. I handed her the glass of water.
"Drink." I told her. She took a sip and placed the glass on the table next to the couch. I headed to my bedroom closet to grab her a blanket, a pillow, and a change of comfortable clothes. I came back and set them all on the coffee table in front of the couch.
"Thank you y/n, you're a great friend you know," she thanked me.
"I try, now get some sleep, I'll see you in the morning." I handed Ashley the blanket and pillow and she set them up on the couch to her liking. I headed back to my room to change into some comfortable clothes myself, hanging up my new dress nicely in my closet to be washed.
I checked my phone before putting it on my nightstand, crawled into bed and closed my eyes to go to sleep. All that ran through my head were the events from tonight. I can't believe Gaege was at that club, I can't believe we danced. I can't believe my number is in his phone. I can't call or text him until he does first, I stupidly didn't get his number in return. I rolled over in bed, and after what felt like forever, I fell asleep.

I woke up at around noon, with no new notifications on my phone. I yawned, stretched, and got up to go to the living room. Ashley was still asleep, and it looks like she found the motivation to change out of her dress. I tried not to bother her as I reached over to grab the empty glass off of the end table and walked into the kitchen to put it in the sink. I decided I would make us some brunch, something quick and easy.
About a couple hours later after Ashley had left to go home, I heard my phone go off. I was busy getting my outfit put together for work. I went over to my nightstand where I left my phone and saw a text from a number I couldn't recognize. The text read "hey".
"Uhm hi?" I texted back. "I'm sorry, who is this?"
"It's Gaege" I read. My eyes went wide with excitement.
"Oh I'm so sorry, hi Gaege" I answered him.
"Dont be sorry, I wanna ask you something"
       "Go for it"
       "Are you busy today?"
       "Yeah, I've got work unfortunately"
"Aw that sucks, I was gonna ask if you wanted to see eachother tonight."
"As amazing as that sounds I'm sorry" I truly wanted to go with him, I'd even considering calling out of work, but I need the money.
"What do you do for work?" He texts me.
"I work at that bar on the corner of the street my building is on, we passed it last night."
"Oh I know that place, so you're an artist and a bartender?"
"Yep, I hope someday my art really takes off so I don't have to work as a bartender anymore."
"Yeah that makes a lot of sense"
     "Where do you work?"
     "It's silly,"
"How could it be?" Seriously though.
     "I'm a YouTuber" he admits.
"You should send me your channel" I joked with him.
"Noo that's for a different day" he joked back with me.
"Aw man, anyway, I gotta get ready for work, I'll talk to you later." I sent my last text to him for now. I would text him forever if I could.
     "Alr, ttyl"
I added his number to my contacts before I forget. I sigh, setting my phone down, and getting ready for work.
