This morning, I decided today I would buckle down and finish my painting. As soon as I got up, I checked my phone for a possible message from Gaege, nothing. I set my phone down and got up to go make a cup of coffee, seeing that Ashley had left early. I thought nothing of it, since she comes and goes whenever she pleases, which I don't mind much. I make my coffee, put it in a traveling cup, and head immediately to my studio. Whenever I open the door to that room it feels like all of my worries just wash away at the sight of it. I twist the knob, and swing the door open, left with that familiar feeling. My studio was my comfort. I walk in, and admired the room in natural light. My mind immediately wandered to Gaege. I thought about last night, and the way he looked at me, and the way his voice sounded in the quiet room. The only noise at the time being his words and the cars passing by on the road just outside.
I walked up to my easel, grabbed my paint brush and immediately started painting, filled with inspiration.

A couple hours later, after I had finally finished painting, I heard my phone ring. I panicked. I had quickly thrown my paint brush down on the table and ran over to the sink to get any paint off of my hands, and answered the phone at the last second.
     "Hello?" I greeted frantically.
"Oh hi, I didn't think you were going to pick up," it was Gaege. My heart sang.
     "Yeah sorry, I was painting."
"Yeah? Did you finally finish that one on your easel?"
"Yeah I did actually, I'd love for you to see it some time." I asked.
     "I'd love that."
"So what's up?" I got to the point. I didn't want to keep him waiting forever.
"Hey so I'm just calling because it's definitely more efficient than texting. I wanted to ask you if you and Ashley wanted to come over to my place tonight for a little get together, you could properly meet the rest of the boys, and so can Ashley. Gabby will be there."
"Oh yeah Gabby was the really nice one at the club wasn't she?" I asked him.
     "Yeah she was."
"Yeah that sounds great, just send me your address. Should I bring anything? Snacks? Alcohol?" I offered. It's the least I could do.
"We'll already have a ton of alcohol, but the more the better." He accepted my offer.
     "Okay! Will do."
     "So I'll see you tonight?"
     "For sure."
     "Alright, bye."
"Mhm bye." I hung up. A party at Gaege's house sounds exhilarating. I put my phone in my pocket and take another look at my painting to make sure I was happy with it, and if a gallery would want to admit it into their building. I definitely had some letters to write, and some emails to send today regarding it. I look at it a little bit longer, and do a distance check. For all I'm concerned about, I'm happy with it. It made me feel a sense of self. Like I was in that dark room in front of the stained glass window, peering at the colors. Watching as the light spills through, bringing out each individual shape and color out to formulate the overall picture. I left it there on the easel to dry, as I cleaned up my station. I dumped out my water, cleaned off my easel, and cleaned out my brushes. I set everything aside for when I would need them next. I have doubts that it'll get into a gallery, but I'm still willing to try, and I figure after I get rejected, I can start on another. It's an endless cycle, but one I'm willing to live by.
After I've cleaned up, I'd figure I'd go and tell Ashley about our plans for tonight, and if she's available. I close up shop in my studio, and leave the room, closing the door behind me. I move to my bedroom to my desk and my PC to write those letters and emails. I've decided I'd do the emails first on the computer, then physically write the letters. Galleries like the letters personalized by the artist. They like to get a feel for their personality through their handwriting. I sit down in my chair, and pull out my phone to call Ashley. She picked up almost instantly.
"Hey, Ash, you busy tonight?" I ask.
      "For you? Never. What's up?"
"Gaege just called me and he asked if me and you wanted to go to a party at his place tonight."
"Will Josh be there?" Of course she asks if Josh will be there. She seems to have taken a liking to him.
"Yeah I'm pretty sure Josh and the rest of his friends will be there." I heard Ashley light up even in her voice.
"Okay yeah I'll be there, send me Gaege's address, I'm gonna drive myself."
      "Alright, will do."
"Okay bye love you!" I laughed to myself.
"Love you too Ashley, see you then." I hung up. I took a little breather for a second to collect my thoughts. I put together a to do list in my mind. First, send Ashley the address. I was working on that right now. Second, send emails to all of my previous art gallery's I tried to send my art to, then third, write letters to those galleries. It was a hassle, sure, but once I deliver those letters to the post office it's all out of my hands and up to fate. I definitely had my doubts, but there's no use in not trying.

After I had finished my task of writing and sending pictures of my art for a couple hours or so, I decided while I wait for Gaege's party, I'd make lunch, and scour YouTube. I went into the kitchen and made myself a simple sandwich, and sat down in my living room, turning on the tv, switching it to YouTube. I got curious. Gaege had said something about his YouTube channel, so I decided to try to find it. I took a shot in the dark and just typed into the search bar, "Gaege" seeing as though I didn't know his last name. To my surprise, he showed up on thumbnails. Scene packs for edits, videos of his Instagram. There was one video titled "Gaege Gibson singing compilation" and that's how I found out his last name. I went back to the search bar and put in "Gaege Gibson" this time and I had actually found his YouTube channel. Juicyfruitsnacks. He had a huge following and is very popular, almost a celebrity. My eyes widened with surprise. I went to his channel, subscribed, and went through to find a video to watch. He was most popular for his VR videos, and I decided to give one a try. I had actually enjoyed it, he's got a great sense of humor.
