Gold was nervous. She was always nervous, but now she was extra nervous. She had to chose between taking a dragon... With her... To school. Or leaving the dragon at her house where it might get lonely and try to snuggle* with Gold's mother (*give her a heart attack) and gold didn't really want to come back to find that her mother had died of 'mysterious causes' or anything similar. So Gold was nervous and confused, if she takes the dragon to her school, there's the possibility of someone finding him and panicking that they could feel something they couldn't see, or him accidentally stepping on someone, or making a loud noise, or knocking something over. But if she left him outside the school building, he might get bored and leave, or decide to come into the building and look for her. She didn't like the options. They all had some risk, but then she got a thought, a devious thought. "What if I had the dragon follow me, visible" she thought"it sure would strike fear into the hearts of everyone, and I wouldn't get bullied anymore, maybe I'd even get a cool nickname, like 'the dragon tamer' that sounds really cool"
All the fantasizing about the cool nicknames didn't make gold any less nervous, she still thought it was a bad idea to bring a dragon to school, and she didn't want to leave it at home, and she couldn't just tell it to leave, that might... hurt its feelings? can it feel sad? "it felt guilty about what it did, with the... prank? joke? psychological torture?" the back of her mind whispers. She sighs, still having plenty of internal turmoil, practically on auto pilot while she gets ready for school. "should I bring it, or leave it, bring it, leave it" her brain goes off on countless different paths of what could happen, almost like she could see the future, "what if it steps on someone? what if I leave it and it follows me because its worried, or lonely, what if someone calls the guards and they kill it" that was the worst possibility, someone killing her dragon, well, technically not hers but its still her dragon, because they're "friends? acquaintances? peers?" she doesn't know what they are, but she doesn't want him to die or get injured or accidentally injure someone else, because then what.
After what felt like hours of thinking, she came to the conclusion "fine, I'll let the overgrown lizard follow me, but he has to stay invisible, or I don't even know, luckily he's a decently small dragon, so he should be able to stay small while walking in the halls. He should be able to fit through the doors, and if not he can wait outside, I know he won't hurt anyone, on purpose"
she sighs, still thinking of what could go wrong as she keeps getting ready for her school day, but before that, she has a thought "i should tell my mother about him, maybe i could actually leave him at home that way, maybe, just maybe, she'll be okay with it and take a liking to him? she'll probably freak out though" "'sigh' MOM, CAN YOU COME HERE FOR A MINUTE"
"Yes gold?" her mother says as she walks into the room, carrying a bag with a few medical supplies, looking worried.
"There's something I have to tell you, promise not to freak out, okay" gold says, with a guilty expression and tone of voice.
"Yes, I promise gold" her mother says, clearly slightly annoyed.
"So, um" Gold says, clearly nervous. "Maybe I should just show you"

The scavenger was doing something weird, well, it was always doing something weird, like... well... okay, he didn't know, but this was extremely weird, weirder than sitting with your legs bent? How does that not hurt the poor creatures? But this scavenger was just pacing back and forth, making little 'hmm' noises. Occasionally the scavenger would look at him, and put one of its paws on its weird flat face. It seemed stressed out.
The scavenger sighed and started gathering a few things, a weird bag, some weird flat scrolls? some odd yellow sticks, and a wooden thing, probably meant to hold water, or food. The scavenger left the room, and little squeaking noises could be heard, then a very loud squeak was made, and another, seemingly worried squeak followed.
After that there were a bunch of nervous/sheepish squeaks, and annoyed ones. Then Shiny walked into the room with the bigger scavenger looking quite annoyed.
Shiny seemed to be arguing, or, just talking? Or having a heated discussion? He didn't know, but what he did know, is that these things were not happy, the bigger one seemingly not believing whatever the smaller one; Shiny was saying.
Shiny suddenly walked over to him with a humph sound directed at the other scavenger, and patted his talon. He shifted out of invisibility, thinking that the bigger scavenger would be pleased, but as soon as that happened, she ran, grabbing Shiny, and ringing a bell, soon more bells started ringing, and more, and more, and one really loud bell started ringing. He ran out of the house, but there was no one to be seen, even their scents were gone. He looks around, getting more and more sad, his scales and body language showing it, he spread his wings and flew away.
