Yn stepped into the classroom, the morning light filtering through the large windows, illuminating the desks that were still scattered with crumpled notes and remnants of homework.
Her eyes swept across the room, landing on Taehyung, the notorious "cold boy" of the class, who sat immersed in a book at the back.
His thick, dark hair framed his sharp features, and despite his aloof demeanor, he nodded in acknowledgment when their eyes met.
Yn's lips curved into a gentle smile, a small gesture that barely reached him, but it felt satisfying nonetheless.
As she continued her survey of the classroom, her cheerful mood was quickly dampened by the glare of Shin Rae, the resident queen bee.
Shin Rae shot daggers from her hazel eyes, clearly displeased by Yn's presence. Yn felt the weight of those daggers but shrugged them off, maintaining her soft smile as she turned away from the chilly aura.
She had learned long ago that some people thrived on negativity, and she wasn't about to let it bring her down.
Her gaze fell on an empty desk beside Jungkook, whose reputation as the "bad boy" had been the subject of countless whispers and speculations.
He slouched in his seat, headphones over his ears, radiating an air of indifference that was almost palpable.
Yn looked away, opting against sitting there; the drama of trying to figure out what he was truly like wasn't worth it.
Instead, she made her way to Hoseok, her ever-optimistic friend, who sat a few rows up, a smile breaking across his face when he saw her approach.
"Hey, Yn!" he exclaimed cheerfully, shifting his belongings aside to make space for her.
As she settled into the chair beside him, she felt a rush of comfort and warmth. Hobi was always a beacon of positivity, and his bright nature never failed to lift her spirits.
However, when Hobi got a good look at her, his smile faltered.
He leaned in closer, worry etched on his features. "Are you okay? You look... tired," he questioned softly, motioning toward the subtle bags under her eyes that hadn't gone unnoticed.
Yn sighed, running a hand through her hair, a gesture that seemed to weigh down her already heavy heart. "It's just the project," she said, her voice low.
"The deadline was brutal, and with all the late nights, I'm just... a bit exhausted."
Hobi studied her face for a moment, searching for any trace of the vibrant friendship they shared.
"You've got to take care of yourself, Yn. You can't let the stress of school get to you like this. Let me know if you need help with anything, okay?"
She offered him a grateful smile, though it felt more like a mask to cover the doubts lurking beneath the surface. "Thanks, Hobi. I really appreciate it. I just... I'll manage."
Their conversation was interrupted by the arrival of the teacher, who shuffled in with a pile of papers, the sound of her heels clicking against the floor breaking the morning's hesitant tranquility.
As the lesson began, Yn's mind wandered. She could feel the weight of Shin Rae's scrutiny from across the room, the chill of Taehyung's demeanor at the back, and even the questionably inviting silence of Jungkook beside her.
2000 YEARS LATER
The sun was setting over the vibrant city of Seoul as Taehyung walked out of the classroom, his heart racing with excitement and a tinge of anxiety.
He had just finished discussing the group's latest project with Mr. Han, their revered teacher who had an undeniable knack for pushing his students to excel.
The project on rare plants had been a thrilling venture for Taehyung, YN, and their spirited classmate Shin Rae, but as Mr. Han's feedback echoed in his mind, he couldn't help but feel uneasy.
"Mhm, the rare ginseng is fine, Taehyung," Mr. Han had said, his voice calm yet firm. "But you have to stick the real plant if you want marks."
Taehyung had nodded, swallowing the knot in his throat. The rare love ginseng was not just a project for him; it was a symbol of their friendship and shared dedication.
It was thrilling and challenging, and Mr. Han wasn't asking for just any plant—he wanted the real deal. Taehyung left the classroom, determined to take on the challenge, but unsure of how to convince his friends.
As he stepped into the bustling hallway, filled with the chatter of students and the scent of freshly brewed coffee from the nearby café, Taehyung's thoughts turned to YN and Jungkook.
He had to find them and share the news about their quest for the rare ginseng.
"Where could they be?" he murmured to himself, scanning the crowd of students until his gaze landed on your familiar face, laughing with Jungkook and Shin Rae near the locker section.
Taehyung pushed through the throng of students, a smile breaking across his face at the sight of his friends.
"Guys!" he exclaimed, catching their attention. "We need to talk!"
YN raised an eyebrow, and Jungkook nudged Shin Rae, both of them curious. "What's up, Taehyung?" YN asked, hands on her hips, her hair swaying slightly as she tilted her head.
"I just spoke to Mr. Han about our project," Taehyung began, catching his breath. "He said we need to find the real rare love ginseng if we want to get a good grade!"
Jungkook's eyes widened, and Shin Rae leaned closer, intrigued. "Wait. You mean the plant that only grows in the dense forest at the edge of Seoul?" Jungkook asked, a combination of excitement and apprehension dancing in his voice.
"Exactly! Mr. Han suggested we go to the forest to get a real one. It's not gonna be easy, but if we find it, we'll have our marks for sure!" Taehyung replied, his enthusiasm reigniting the tension in the air.
"I've heard that forest is beautiful but also dangerous," Shin Rae said cautiously. "What if we get lost?"
YN crossed her arms, a determined glint in her eyes. "It sounds risky, but isn't that what makes it an adventure? We can do this together!" Her optimism was infectious, and Taehyung felt a rush of confidence.
Jungkook grinned, already pumped for their excursion. "Let's do it! I'm in."
"Alright! Let's prepare for our little expedition then," Taehyung said, feeling the thrill of a shared mission envelop them all. "We'll meet tomorrow after school, and I'll bring a map. And snacks!"
The three friends began to brainstorm ideas, their laughter and chatter drawing in the curious attention of passing students.
A sense of camaraderie filled the air, and Taehyung felt grateful for the bond they shared. Whatever challenges awaited them in the dense forest, he knew they would face them together.
As the sun fully set, they wrapped up their conversation, each of them bubbling with excitement about the adventure that awaited.
Little did they know, the journey ahead would not only test their determination but also strengthen the ties of their friendship in ways they never anticipated.
Tomorrow, the real adventure would begin, and the dense Seoul forest awaited.
