The sun shone brightly over Yonsei University, bathing the graduation ceremony in a golden glow.
YN Shin Rae, with a degree in hand, stood among her family, the pride of their achievement palpable in the air.
Laughter and tears mingled as graduates celebrated their journeys and futures. YN felt tired yet ecstatic, ready to embrace whatever came next.
As she scanned the crowd, her eyes landed on someone familiar.
Jungkook, her close friend and one of the few constants in her life, was engrossed in conversation with her brother, Felix.
YN smiled, waving enthusiastically to get his attention. But to her dismay, Jungkook simply looked at her for a moment before turning back to Felix, his expression unreadable.
A wave of anger surged through her.
How dare he ignore her on a day like this? She brushed past the many graduates and their families, her determination guiding her through the crowd until she reached him.
Grabbing his arm, she pulled him aside, away from the laughing groups and the celebration surrounding them.
"What's your deal, Jungkook?" she snapped, frustration bubbling over. "Why are you acting so weird?"
Jungkook ran a hand through his hair, his eyes darkening. "Weird? Really? You think I'm acting weird?" He took a deep breath, the memories of yesterday flooding back—her confession to Taehyung about liking someone else.
"You confessed your feelings, YN. You said you like someone else. Why would you even care what I'm doing?"
The words struck YN like an unexpected gust of wind. "You're frustrated about that? About what I said to Taehyung?"
She couldn't believe he had taken her words to heart in such a way. "It wasn't even about you!"
"Then who is that someone?" Jungkook shot back, crossing his arms tightly over his chest.
"They must be really important for you to want to be with them and be messing with me!"
Frustrated beyond words, YN stepped forward and, without thinking, pressed her lips against his in a sudden kiss, silencing him.
Time seemed to freeze for both of them as Jungkook's eyes widened in shock, her heart racing against her ribcage.
As she pulled away, the realization hit him like a tidal wave. It clicked. "Wait... you like me?" he breathed, the confusion melting into disbelief.
"Of course, I like you, you idiot!" she exclaimed, exasperated but relieved. "You just misunderstood everything!
I was trying to say I liked you, but the moment made me flustered!"
The tension melted away, replaced by a warmth that spread through both of them. Jungkook let out a soft laugh, the corners of his lips curling into a smile.
"You really should've just said it directly."
"Shut up," YN replied playfully, though her heart soared now that everything was out in the
open. "I thought you'd figure it out. Guess I really have to spell everything out for you, huh?"
He chuckled, those bright dimples flashing, and YN felt her heart flutter once more. "I guess I'm a little clueless when it comes to these things."
With their hearts now in sync, they walked back to their families who were still mingling, their earlier misunderstandings now a thing of the past.
Felix spotted them first and raised an eyebrow teasingly. "What were you two doing? You look like you've just been through something intense."
"Just settling some... misunderstandings," Jungkook replied with a smirk, throwing an arm around YN's shoulders. She leaned into him, feeling a sense of comfort that had been missing.
"And it's all good now," YN added, shooting Jungkook a glance that spoke volumes.
As they returned to their families, laughter and joy filled the air once more, but now, YN had the warmth of Jungkook by her side, ready to face whatever adventures awaited them in this new chapter of their lives.
