"So, your loverboy isn't in school today?" Katie asks as she looks around the cafeteria and then back to me.
After yesterday, I first shared every detail I could share with Rose and Mia. After that, they made me repeat it all to the others on a group call in the car. Of course I wish I could tell them about everything, but I try not to think of it as lying. More just, not telling everything. Rose probably noticed I'm holding something back, she can read me like that. She doesn't push me to tell her, though. Probably thinking I'll tell her when I'm ready. Either way, I doubt any of my friends would believe it, if I told them I was dating a werewolf.
"I guess he isn't." I say, trying to hide my disappointment. Does he not want to see me?
"From the way he made out with you on the sidewalk yesterday, I'd think he'd want to get back to you as soon as possible." Rose says, sensing my uncertainty.
"Well, I haven't heard from him since last night."
"Why don't you text him, then?" Nila asks.
"Maybe he's scared." Katie suggests.
"Maybe we can ask the Greek god named Benjamin where he is. I volunteer." Ash says, already standing up from his seat.
Benjamin turns around to look behind him from a few tables away, he looks directly at us. Did he hear us? Maybe he did, werewolves have quite the ears, I heard.
"No! No. I'll just text him. Please, don't go up to him." I try to keep my voice reasonably low.
"Fine, but you better do it right now."

In mere seconds, he has read my message and started typing. I hold my phone in the middle of the table, so everyone can see, but they all come to my side of the table and hover over my shoulder.

I hesitate a moment. "Their company's building. They call it that, for some reason."
"Ooh, sounds fancy. Hot and rich, you really picked out the best."
"Well, we got our answer, I guess." I sigh and start typing.
