Dorinda's POV
Cheryl: Wait a minute, he said what?!
Dorinda: He said that he wants us to have an open marriage.
Kelli: That's ridiculous.
Dorinda: I said the same thing, but he thinks that it'll keep us together. In his words, "We've both broken the vows and fucked other people; why not just keep the door open and keep our marriage going at the time?"
Vicky: That's not a marriage, at least not a godly one.
Cheryl: I see his point, but he's still wrong.
Kelli: There is no point; he's just plain wrong. So, what did you say back?
Dorinda: I told him that's not what I want, and he told me to sleep on it and we'll talk about it in a few days. That was two days ago, and he hasn't brought it up yet.
Vicky: What are you going to tell him?
Dorinda: I don't know. What if that's the only thing that'll make him stay?
Cheryl: If he wants to leave, let him. Don't disrespect yourself to make him happy. Especially since he's not without fault. He cheated just like you did; he doesn't get to call the shots because your affair was deeper than his.
Vicky: Mhm, speaking of affairs, have you talked to Drew at all?
Dorinda: He'll no!
Vicky: Don't you think you should, I mean -
Cheryl: Vic, just let it go.
Vicky: What, why? Dorinda, I know you hate him, and I know it's a messy situation, but he's your son's father.
Dorinda: No Greg is his father; he's my husband, and he's on the birth certificate, and he's been raising him as his own since day one. John Drew is nothing more than a sperm donor. Plus, he hasn't even tired of seeing my baby, so he can go to hell.
Vicky: Understandable.
Cheryl: Ooo, Dorinda, I heard your sister's been seeing someone.
Dorinda: Twinkies have been with Johnny for a while now; that's nothing new.
Cheryl: Not Twinkie, Karen.
Dorinda: Wait what?
Vicky: Yup, I saw and her a fine man walking out of the movie theater last weekend. I didn't want to tell you, but
Cheryl: Oh, please, she doesn't care. Right?
Dorinda: Why would I? It's her life, and if anything, I'm glad she's leaving Drew; he doesn't deserve her. What did the guy look like?
Vicky: Tall, light-skinned, kind of muscular, and he smelled really good.
Kelli: How do you know what he smelled like?
Cheryl: Because she talked to them.Dorinda: Vic, please tell me she's joking.
Vicky: I didn't say anything crazy. Karen and I made eye contact, and then she waved at me. I was heading into the movies, so I walked by, and she stopped me and gave me a hug.
Dorinda: Mhm, you should've just kept walking.
Vicky: Why, She and I have always been cool, and I wouldn't have said anything if she didn't greet me first.
Dorinda: I guess.
Cheryl: What was the guy's name?
Vicky: Something with a W. Either Warren or Winston, I forgot. But he did drive a cool-looking car, and he was wearing nice clothes.
Dorinda: Well, good for her. Speaking of cars, Cheryl, did Little Jimmy ever pass the drivers test?
Cheryl: Oh yeah, he did, but now I've got to get I'm a car.
All Doe's friends sensed that she was uncomfortable with the topic of Karen and her new man, even though she said she wasn't, so they were fine with changing the subject. And Dorinda missed this more than anything. Before her affair started, she met with her friends all the time, and they shared everything without judgment—the good, the bad, even the unforgivable.OKAY! I know this was short asf, but I wanted to update and I like this conversation I just don't know what else to write lol! 😘
I hope you guys liked this! 💖
