I was sent to capture the CIA's most wanted fugitive.
But things took a tragic turn,
My entire team was murdered before my eyes, and I was kidnapped by said fugitive.
It seemed like my government had forgotten me and I became a puppet for the fugi...

To us Americans, the Mafia has always been some sort of fiction, an unrealistic gathering of bad guys found in books and movies. Until one Agent Steven. From what I've heard and from my research, Agent Steven was an on-ground Seattle field agent for the CIA and, unknown to his government, a traitor and a spy for the Italian Mafia.
According to his statements, he was threatened by none other than Andreas Hidalgo, using his younger sister as leverage. Agent Steven's mission was to spy on a very different set of people: hockey players, their wives, girlfriends, and other family members. It was an unusual task for an agent trained to deal with international threats, but Steven was desperate to protect his sister.
Believing he could redeem himself, Agent Steven hatched a plan to capture Andreas Hidalgo and hand him over to the U.S. government. He saw this as a chance to wipe his slate clean and free himself from the Mafia's grip. However, his plans crumbled when Andreas staged an unexpected coup nine years ago, overthrowing the existing power structure within the Mafia. This unforeseen move not only solidified Andreas's power but also exposed Agent Steven's betrayal.
As a result, Steven was arrested and has been in federal prison as a traitor ever since. His story serves as a stark reminder that the line between fiction and reality can blur in the world of espionage and organized crime. The story of Agent Steven is more than just a history lesson; it's a chilling example of how deep the roots of the Mafia can go, reaching into the very heart of American institutions and turning trusted agents into pawns in their deadly game.
History lesson much?
I make a mental note to visit Agent Steven before the day we catch Andreas.
I snort to myself as I dress in my attire for the night. The aim is to get Andreas' attention, watch him closely, and figure out his next move. Sounds easy, right?
Tonight, it's an underground bad guys' party here in New York, right under our noses. Thanks to Agent Rodriguez and his exceptional skills at hacking the guest list, we know that a lot of well-known gang leaders in the criminal world will be there. This means we won't just gather information on Andreas Hidalgo, but on countless other criminals as well. It's some sort of bad guys' gathering and auditing, but of course, they'd need some half-naked women to entertain them.
Cue me.
"Andreas is a patient man, patience is his strongest trait,"
From a brother who knows him more than any gathered intelligence, we have to trust this particular statement. It sounded like a warning, that and he called me my Italian name before he warned. Meaning that we can't be hasty to catch Andreas, meaning that Code Hidalgo will be open for a little more while, and that our patience must match his.
I stand in front of the mirror, my fingers tracing the outline of the delicate rose tattoo that climbs down my spine, a quiet reminder of my strength. The words etched beside it, "Aliquem invenias qui flores in tenebrosissimis partibus tui serat." are almost a whisper against my skin.
